Time for Brakes 2016 options
Well it's time for pads and rotors, all 4 corners on the E63S Wagon.
Dealer is CAD$2500 front and CAD$1400 rear = CAD$3900 (about USD$3100)
What are all the cool kids doing?

I just had full brake service done on my 2016 E63 wagon. I was about to go down the route of others - 2pc Brembos from FCP with the lifetime warranty, and then EBC red brake pads. Ended up talking with a local shop owner who owns several AMGs and races some...he tipped me off to moving away from the 2pc setup in front and using 1 pc C63 rotor that fit perfectly (and that he had done several times before on E63s).
And, if it makes a difference, the owner is "master certified with Mercedes-Benz and Maybach/McLaren SLR"...so I trusted his recommendation/advice.
All in, with them doing the work, I spent just under $1,400 for all four corners - rotors, ceramic pads (not EBC), and fluid flush. And I can't tell a difference and they still look badass enough when standing beside the car, lol.
Front rotors were only $136.99 each. Rears were $107.99 each. Pads were $130.99 front and $66.99 rear. So for under $800 parts, if doing the work yourself, you can have new brakes all around.
Unfortunately, the invoice doesn't have the part numbers on them...I can probably get them if you can't find them online but would have to go back to the shop owner.
A pic of the C63 rotor by an E63 rotor is below.

How much do the FCP Euro rotors weigh?
EDIT 29.1 lbs found here https://www.brembostoreusa.com/produ...mbo-09976423-n
They are now almost $500 a pop https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bra...mbo-2194210212
for slightly more at $600 a pop I can just get Girodiscs and save 10lb per side https://www.girodisc.com/Front-Rotor...MG_p_6606.html
Stock 34.5 lbs (still googling to verify this)
Brembo 29.1 lbs
Girodisc 23.6 lbs

Interesting I found the same Brembo brakes here for a lot cheaper but this site says they will not fit
BRE-09976423 part number on both sites:

I really wanted to go with lighter weight / non OEM rotors...but in the last month I'm $4,000+ into repairs on my 2012 A4 Avant my son is driving. Combo of driver error lol and then a multitude of issues that were triggered by the alternator ferociously dying. When I had the chance to save some dollars and likely feel no seat of the pants impact, I jumped at it.
I guess it's nice to have an $800 option or a $3,000 option, lol...
EDIT: Also...those Girodisc are what I really wanted; if I was going Brembo I would have likely swapped to those. But you truly can't beat the FCP Euro replacement policy IF you are going to keep the car long enough for another set of rotors. But dang if those Girodiscs don't look awesome...

Yes they do not dust, but how do they stop the car? Why Z16 and not Z23 compound? FF friction as shown above indicates to me these are not high performance pads, I believe stock is GG (much gripper both cold and hot).

So I can get Girodisc all four corners and their Magic Pads for 12% off list
My friend can get me stock replacement stuff (not oem) wholesale for just under CAD$1500 all in including sensors
I’m going to sleep on it THEN GET THE GIRODISC!!!
Why?!
Everything needs to be lighter.
It is the way.
Plus I love this car. She deserves it. Just back from a platinum detail:

Once installed, please let us know how they stop the car both when full force is applied and especially their initial bite (the fact that initial bite will be diminished is unquestionable, just to what degree is the question).
