360mm direct fit carbon rotors

Someone recently found stock steel rotor sized CCB rotors. They swap right in. For the life of me I can't find that dang thread.

I keep searching and regretting not bookmarking it. I think it was from late 2021, probably in another area here at mbworld.

Anyone else seen it?!

Reads like they are asking about CCB rotors to replace OEM steel, not steel rotors to replace OEM CCB, or I'm misreading it.

Correct.

Some guy supplies or has a source for CCB rotors with same dimensions as our stock ones - diameter, offset, etc. etc. to swap right in using the red stock calipers.
I swear I read it on mbworld on my phone a few days ago, and, can't find it now.

I already have Giro Disc's coming, but, for "next time" would love to plan for CCB if I can just find the post and it's not a $20k purchase

My bad! I was the one that mis-read.

I don't remember a thread going that way - but I do remember threads of people going from CCB to steelies.

Cant say i remember a threat or even a post that mentioned it, but could have missed it. Lots of talk about replacing OEM CCB with steel as you mentioned.

Most ccb rotors overseas custom spec'd to oem 402mm & 358mm can be made for 1000-1500 a pair depending on supplier. We should do a group buy 🧐

I’d buy those rotors ^^ if we get the dimensions right I’m in!!

And, I think I might have found the thread! However I really thought the thread I remember had 360mm rotor drawing pics with dimensions etc etc.

https://mbworld.org/forums/sedan/827...ccb-discs.html

I guess I’m just crazy. I PM’d the OP in that thread about W212 rotors.

Who’s in for group buy?!

Well **** @jonii beat me to it and I never noticed! I wasted so much time searching google, if I would have just read his post above … lol.

Thank you @jonii I think that was it.

I’d try CCB for those prices, wonder what they weigh in the slightly smaller “iron” 360mm size?

I just bought Girodisc what if I just measured/sent the rings in to be copied into carbon? Would that work?!?! Then just use the new carbon rings with the hats?!

Yes! Still waiting on reply.
I found a used real set in the marketplace but…

I’m going to install my Girodisc and patiently plan this ceramic upgrade.

Update - I got a PM back asking if we have rear electric parking brake. I don't think so, anyone confirm? I asked him to confirm if they are stock iron size replacement carbon rotors or if they are the larger OEM CCB rotor sizes... awaiting a reply and if they are even available.

I also found a guy in NJ that wants to swap CCB's for Irons from a 2013, another in California that is outright selling a set, and there's a set on Ebay now with Calipers for $8900.

Used makes me feel weird since I don't know if there's anything wrong with them.

I also got a quote from my local dealer for CCB calipers, rotors, pads it was $32,000 after taxes LOL LOL LOL they said I could get 10-15% off that.
Umm no.

My Girodisc's FINALLY arrived. So looks like all my options are presenting themselves all at the same time.

Keep you all posted.

Front and rear Girodisc weights.

What do the stock CCB weigh front and rear?

I’m going to sit on these for a while, hopefully an affordable CCB option arises.

It's definitely a drop in weight from the stock steelies, but I think the stock CCBs are lighter than that.

Interesting, and thank you for posting the weights.

I read fronts are 13.9 lbs but can't find info on the rears. I haven't had a ton of time to search either, maybe this weekend I can google-fu
Edit: looks like the rears are 9ish

Those Giros save really much weight. Here is new Brembo CLS550 front disc. Its 360mm like on M157 AMGs, but maybe a different somehow?

Look at this weight! 15,2kg / 33,5 lbs. So front giros weight is 16,6 lbs if I did understand correct.. So the save is 7,6kg / 16,9 lbs!!???

Front is 24.2 lbs, so still some weight savings 9.3 lbs but not amazing weight savings. Hence my search for carbon still

(Rear is 16.6 lbs)

So, another way to go at this is to get the bigger CCB and use adapter brackets. Racing brake says this kit will bolt up with adapters
https://racingbrake.com/mb-crk-07/

Still a bit pricy.

I did find a 2013 with CCB that wants to swap, but it's RWD and I'm not sure they will fit my 2016 dust shields and AWD etc.

The quest for poor-man's CCB swap continues.

Okey. Its still 18,6 lbs / 8,4kg rotation mass off just in front. I think that will get some gain on 1/4 mile runs etc.

Does anyone know how much original rear disc weighs is? Would be interesting to compare that weight difference to Giros also.

Don't think I'd buy used CCB sight unseen.....

Those on ebay are in Burbank so maybe someone can take a look for you?

Agree
In the Marketplace here there are some in Monterey but the nearest friend I have that way that would know what to look for is in Newport

I found the "source" for making these, not sure if they will deal with end users. I just reached out to a contact there I got from a bimmer board.

If they do sell direct I'll find out min. run numbers and report back.
