I follow a page on IG which is ran by a shop on Long Island, NY.
Saw them post this this morning:
I said, DANG! I did not know these cars suffered from this problem.
They replied saying they do a good number of them on W212 and W204.
Guess, it's another item to keep an eye on.
I imagine most e63's are summer cars and see less corrosive salt etc from winter road treatments ... hence less of this in the amg w212's.... they tend to be driven less than the non amg versions.... less miles ....I dunno
Someone posted this just earlier in the W212 group that's on Facebook, seems like MBUSA is acknowledging it as an issue now and will do the replacement free of charge. Warranty is up to 20 years/unlimited miles now.

Makes sense.
During my seasonal wheel/tire changes, I did note dirt and debris accumulating in there:
and wondered why didn't MB seal it up somehow... even a plastic trim piece or something. I have been cleaning that area out every time I do the wheel swap since.
Definitely get your money back if you paid for one
Thankfully the pic in the first post is not of my car. Additionally, the docs. you posted expressly state there will be no reimbursement if you have this done at a non-stealership. More people need to know about this "benefit".

This makes me happy. Now of course, much like the ww211 fuel tank debacle, if the becomes an issue it's a matter of getting the dealership to acknowledge this exists rather than them trying to extort money out of me.
