2014 E63 Amg White Smoke From Exhaust after two weeks no start
Hi everyone, new to the forum here.
i purchased this 2014 e63 wagon from a Ford dealership in SD two weeks and have not driven it off the lot yet. I texted me sales person yesterday saying I’d be down first thing tomorrow to pick the car up and he says that after sitting for two weeks, he noticed that there was white smoke coming from the exhaust and these were the codes his technician retrieved when they scanned the car. They said they swapped out the cylinder 1 coil and plug. Mind you, no check engine ever came on and the car did not have idling or actual misfire issues according to the sales person.
Then the internal services advisors told my sales guy that that “the Mercedes is had old gaskets that rotted out and liquids leaked into the engine. It’s now junk”
I’ve never heard of such a thing for these engines. The car is CA it’s whole life. And it has 44k miles, not a lot but it certainly has not been sitting all time either.
One of my suspicions is that someone from the dealer is trying to scare me into backing out of the deal because of how rare the car is 😂 (i hope I’m wrong) but has anyone had similar symptoms to this? I haven’t seen any common occurrences of the a faulty fuel temp sensor either.
sorry for the long thread. Just trying to find answers to ease my mind before i take delivery of the car
Engine needs to be scoped (cylinder scoring), compression test, look for coolant mixing with oil, just to start ...

i told them before i get the car, I’d want an unbiased opinion front the MB dealer right across the street from them and i can then make an informed decision. Just because i pretty much had to pull teeth from them to get them to agree to do this makes me think there’s something else going on and they’ve tried to cancel the sales multiple times without me bringing it up and before letting someone else give their opinion just sends me weird signals.
or I’m just hard headed and not wanting to believe a 44k miles wagon that’s been maintained at the dealer it’s whole life could have “all seals and gaskets rotted out”

no, not common at this mileage but unclear if it was tuned or not tuned and if driven aggressively or just a bad egg

did the Benz dealer do a full ppi? And they said all is good? What all did they inspect?
if so - congrats on what seems like a great deal. I'm glad you feel validated.
also what happens if you overfill an engine by five quarts? Does anything get affected?

When they sent the car over to the MB dealer, i asked the service advisor that was handling it to talk to me directly since i was going to be the owner of the car. After they found out it was filled to about 13.5 quarts of oil, they re did the oil change, cleaned out the PCV valve, replaced the plugs and did a carbon clean all under the selling dealers tab. I offered to pay for a compression and leak down test and spoke to the shop foreman who assured me the car is solid they did their thing. The selling dealer ended up paying extra for that also and for them do to what was equivalent to a CPO inspection.
all in all. I feel good about the whole transaction and glad i didn’t walk away so quickly. It took an extra week for the transaction but I’m glad i got the MB dealer to give their stamp of approval. I know a lot of people would’ve ran the opposite direction the second they’re heard of white smoke coming out of exhaust. But i also work in the same line of business and wanted to make sure everyone on their side crossed their Ts and dotted their Is before i walked away, which i could’ve at anytime. And being in the car dealership business for over 20 years, this is definitely a “new” for me.

as I said earlier - this is a whole new level of dealer deception .. glad you came out clean and hope the car is good, drive it in good health.

Also, OP reminds me of....me. I tend to get my rocks off navigating uncertain situations like that. I know plenty of people who would have been miles away the second this all went down.
