What we are trying to focus on at the moment are the boxes , allowing the silicone hoses to basically self seal itself on box . There are no holes in the boxes what do ever , but the 2 holes for the incoming ambient air, and the turbo intake hose itself. Prototype parts pictured.

Really excited to see these become available for all of us. Had the pleasure to see them in person on the CLS. Great design with the finest quality parts being used. Big power intakes incoming!!!

appreciate the offer , but I'd rather not be involved with the comparison to another brand intakes. We have been using these for over a year now and have done all the tests. Just like anything that comes out I'm sure these will be put to the test and what people choose to compare them to is up to them. It's not hard to see based off design that if you want maximum flow, these high flow
intakes are what's needed.

I hear ya. I have wanted a custom dyno tune for some time but eurocharged's e40 tune has treated me well. Knowing that tuners always ask what mods you have before sending you their off the shelf tune, I would like to think eurocharged accounts for increased air flow from the blackboost intakes vs stock boxes when you get their tune (but I cant say for sure). With that said, will swapping from blackboost intakes to yours have a substantial increase in air flow that an adjustment in the tune is needed? Obviously a custom to tune is the right way to go but I guess what I'm asking is, will an already mapped car need a re-tune?

Looks amazing , what Printing material are you using for the parts , have tried a few and did not hold up to the heat of the engine bay

the print material for the hoses is just used for prototype testing . Carbon composite. The final version is 6y high temp silicone. The boxes will be quarter inch thick high tensile carbon composite tho .we scanned the engine bay to try and get the best fit. The carbon composite even at a thin print withstands a lot of heat so we added 3 times the thickness and have been running it in a car for over 8 months with no signs of wear .

these intakes as you can see have minimal bends, over sized pipes which you could actually fit the stock pipes inside these intake pipes lol. Which eliminates all pressure drops associated with the stock grey inlet pipes. These intakes are the biggest intake hoses ever added to an m157 4" to 3" So that should pretty much tell you how much more it will flow. As far as retune, these move a lot but will adapt with stft but I highly recommend a custom retune with a log or you will be leaving some power on the table. You will get even more from them. I don't recommend anyone putting these on a stock tune. These will do amazing with a log and retune.

if I can get my hands on an sl for a week or 2 I'd probably be able to make an inlet . But we can still sell everything but the inlet hoses because the gain in flow will still be a huge advantage.

@Cifdig these really look so well made as if they were OEM factory! Amazing work! Doest look like the hood liner gets touched/scratched by these in any way and its a nice clean seal/fit of the hood?

I have one of the early days blackboost kits with the larger diameter red BMC filters which were about 1/4 inch too wide diameter and stuck out above the boxes so my hood liner got a little messed up with wear marks...

Why can't the filters be cased/enclosed in a nicely CF like boxes than be opened like this? I am sure there's a reason so what is it, cost? Fitment?

forget carbon fiber. Telling people it's an extra 1000-1500 a kit for carbon fiber won't pan out. Also closed boxes yield no benefits in this platform in this location because one, when the hood closes it seals to the box, making it closed. So basically closing the hood, is like closing the boxes.

I am talking from aesthetic point of view. The boxes (regardless if CF or other material) would complement the engine bay and if CF would look wonderful aesthetically with the CF engine cover. The open design just doesn't flows well with our engine bays, my opinion

i personally feel the opposite . Yes it's an opinion for sure. Love the filter look . Ams has a closed box and carbon fiber . Not sure if you have seen them. Exactly your taste. I've seen them in person . Really nice.

Will the final boxes be 3D printed or is that just for prototyping?
