Headlamp module replacement and coding.

2013 W212 facelift E63 AMG

Hi, i had water leak into my headlamp and damage the module on the bottom (rectangle one). i’ve dried the inside of the lamp, repaired the crack and removed the faulty module.

Im planning on getting a new module and was wondering if i need to code the new module if im still using the original headlamp. And if so, is it easy enough to do it myself or should i go to a shop to have it coded.

Cheers

LED MODULE REPLACEMENT

Hella HL need various coding. I am not sure this can be DIY'ed successfuly.

-1- The HL module are coded individually to drive each LED equally so that L + R lights look alike. This requires reading each HL barcode number...

-2- The HL modules are heavily networked to read speed, steering angle, suspension settings and may need VIN to match feature set.

-3- Besides HELLA use Continental controllers that feature solderless pins.
Soldering these makes the power LED light output more consistent.
