Ok back on this. I do not care if you can buy 10 cars and 20 ski boats with the balance between the Porsche and the AMG.
If you drive the W212 E63 and the 1st gen Panamera turbo side by side, you will definitely notice an astounding difference in character. Since I barely roll race, the ability to have a hammer/power with high levels of grinning in the corners matters a lot more than just straight line performance.
I am guessing here that the new gen Panamera T will only do better in feel and feedback.
So why am I back on this??? I have been driving a 2017 E300 for a couple of hours on and off......
Very numb steering in the corners, still ugly in the rear. But so far thats about all the complaints I have. Overall feel of the car is waaay superior. The vaultlike feel of the E55 is kinda back (not as much but better than the W212).
Car is much smoother in feel and suspension, yet flatter in turns as well as easily controlled slides.
If this is the base of the E63, we have a serious machine in the upcoming the E63! With 3 chamber air suspension, this could be made to keep up with the Porsche (not necessarily at a track, just in feel sans the steering) for a lot less money.
The E could be a deal!

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ecu tune; edok tcu tune; BB intakes; dyno tuned
When this new car plummets in value as all amg's do... I'll have to consider a cpo

I have a 14 E63 Wagon which I am keeping. But probably adding a Panamera GT (the Shooting Brake station wagon version). Probably the Turbo. Porsche is 50% more expensive than the AMG.

I cancelled my E43 order with my dealer (my build was just taking too long to fulfill, it's delay after delay). I then placed an order with Porsche for a Panamera 4 2017.
I guess this is good-bye with this forum as well. You guys been real nice but I'm moving on to 6speed!

It's hard to believe the M5 lost ... as the many other online test reviews have shown the M5 wins (by a nose or 1 car length) like 8/10 straight line races.
I think they should do this test at best 3/5 times. The drivers' reaction time seemed to be the deciding factor in this round

Porsche tax, and I have no problem with that LOL... we can always equate performance to pricing (by citing the variances) unless we compare E63S's to E63S's.

Interesting description of how to engage launch control on the E63. I thought you just rock the switch down to Sport+ or Race and stomp the brake and throttle peddles and presto, you're in launch control mode. Release brake and away you go.
In fact, I thought switching off traction control was not recommended for optimal launches. Never been requested to do any right paddle confirmation for anything other than drift mode.

To get a comparably equipped hybrid Porsche (which I believe is the only Panamera model faster than an E63S) to a loaded E63 you're well into $220k+. That doesn't even include if you want to get into personal customization options. I spec'd one online in Chalk with just a few matching trim pieces and was bumping up against a quarter million.

Real life tests has shown me that M5 is slower than my wagon. However it's faster than RS6.
I've not raced from 0 but mostly from 120kph up.

Seems like lots of the M5 test vehicles for magazines have been ringers. Real life ones have been slower. E63S cars have been super consistent.
