Regardless of how you feel about the all-wheel drive system, there's nothing "tame" about the new E63 AMG.

I find that title interesting. What was the last W212 year that we got a RWD E63 in the U.S.. 2013?

yep 2013...been awd since 2014 so i dont really get the title either unless its retroactive

and answer, no, awd made it better... i can floor my e63s anytime at any speed, any gear and no problems..... in my modded e55/c63 if i floored it out of a corner i was too fast too furious tokyo drifting , if i floored it in just the slightest wet roads i again turned into too fast too furious tokyo drifting, and if i floored it anywhere under 60 mph, you guessed it, again turned into too fast too furious tokyo drifting

with my awd e63 different story, i floor it whenever i want and just takes off no fuss, no drifting and scaring little old lady next to me that i thought was racing me and no tire screeching

Nice!

I wish they would have included the final race in that movie... watching that 1970 Road Runner drift, would have been a good time!

Yup I agree with this, and its also amazing how the efficiency is nearly as good as the RWD variant so aside from a bit more weight its almost just as fast from the roll starts that begin from 60mph+

lol my post was a typo but how funny that happens to be true as well! Lol

what I mean to say was that now they also added airmatic upfront

but yea the extra clutch and 4matic business upfront is yet another way to complicate it. Should of kept it simple.

Funny how this thread turned into a gripe match about the current E63S...

The reviewer was from the UK, where the car was previously RWD only.

New E63S allegedly has drift mode (100% power to the rear).
