well in stock form, in the videos above from moscow unlim500, its cutting 1.6X 60fts on tarmac/street so it would seem its improved since tuned W212's have hard time doing that even on prepped tracks
nice, does it need to use launch control to do that or is that just using normal mash and go method?
looks pretty promising since its just a preliminary tune and they usually come up with revised stronger tunes later on
looks like they are picking up already about 100hp over stock... Also looks like the new motor likes to rev a lot higher than the M157 as this dyno has the car still producing power to 7000 while most m157 dynos end at 6200-6300
What does this tune cost? Are you a sales rep for them?
lol no not sales rep.... and its renntech's german HQ division as they seem to be all the developing for renntech now since most of the mb's come out in europe before north america so makes since that they would develop tunes over there since they have the car well before renntech USA would get it
they dont show pricing yet but i would assume it would be typical renntech tune prices so 3-4K

Very promising, but a quick note. Renntech tends to temper their tunes with time not improve on it power output wise. Initial Renntech tunes from ~2012-2014 were more potent than the newer tunes.
Good question, how do these tunes comply with US emissions regulations?
Or do you unload them before taking the vehicle in for its annual inspection?
they wont be legal unless a ARB approval number is applied for or a CARB approval for California. basically you will need to revert back to stock and HOPE there is no trace left .
While my year diesel truck doesn't need to be smogged, it does need to be inspected every other year to make sure the emission systems are in place. The guys at the shop freak out every year over my aftermarket exhaust gas temperature and boost pressure monitor thinking it is my tuner and I have to explain it's just a passive monitor I installed because I tow with the truck.
As far as the inspections go, once they get to it, the truck has passed each time.
The Superchips tuner I use claims to leave no trace when the tune is set back to stock mode. The dealer didn't see any trace of it in the computers, but did tell me that they thought I was running one when they had the truck apart to replace a blown head gasket. The 2003 model year 6.0 l diesel motor did have some problems with weak studs for the heads that were stretching even with stock motors and blowing head gaskets.
The dealer claimed they could see a characteristic spray pattern on the pistons from when tuners are used. But they still covered the repair under warranty and just told me to be careful. The service guys at that same dealer were also the ones who pointed me to a tuner in the first place, so wouldn't have been nice if they denied a claim for using one :-)
So, I'm not adverse to using a tuner. But this is a larger investment than my truck by almost 4x so factory warranty and California state emissions passage are a must.
