looks pretty promising since its just a preliminary tune and they usually come up with revised stronger tunes later on
looks like they are picking up already about 100hp over stock... Also looks like the new motor likes to rev a lot higher than the M157 as this dyno has the car still producing power to 7000 while most m157 dynos end at 6200-6300
Wow, that was fast... this car sounds like and makes similar power to the RS7 (go figure, it's the same motor setup). I'm wondering what the difference will be on the track with the two different transmission types.
i just put together a quick RS7 stage 1 tune vs E63 tune only comparison in excel and definitely pretty close under 4000 rpm, but after that, looks like E63 starts to gap out against the RS7 and then RS7 shifts 300 rpm sooner
Wonder what it does to motor longevity and warranty?
So far, my CLA has been tuned for over 40,000 miles with no trouble. Just had a full inspection done and so far she's golden. If it's anything like that, I think the E63 will do nicely.
i also did comparison against RS7 stage 2 100oct (they are running low 10s/134-135) and it looks pretty close to this preliminary renntech tune only e63s (only difference is the trq bump for rs7 from 2000-4000rpm)
I guess from this point it's all about weight, gearing and transmission. If this car isn't quicker/faster than the RS7 that's a major disappointment considering that car came out when the first 4matic E63s came out in 2014.

i think its all going to be about transmission and how fast it can get off the line... honestly thats main thing holding W212 back from RS7 as well
hmmm moscow 500 has some w213 e63s running and this one did great against tuned RS7, even beat it off the line and thats RS7 strong point... supposedly this w213 e63s is stock but who knows
We had an AMG rep at the shop the other morning with a 2019 E63 development car, going over some basics. He did say, the car right now is faster 0-60 than the GT-R. They've got the launch control figured out.
I wonder if without using any launch methods if it launches any better/harder than the w212 e63s
The new engine seems more responsive off the line, but it's hard to say. There's no point comparing non-race start launches, as that's not the best of what either car is capable of, but I don't feel like the newer cars with the 177 have that built-in lag the 157 did from a dead stop if you weren't launching it.
The trans is very updated as well, and the MCT might have had a lot to do with that feeling in the older cars.

the only thing is that the newer 177 is also using the MCT trans (with extra 2 gears), not a torque converter auto.
By by nature the MCT has torque limits off the line to protect it from too much torque in the lower gears. Maybe now the w213 MCT is upgraded to be strong enough to not need the lag anymore from off the line like w212?

all modern transmissions have torque limits imposed by tcu/ecu, not just MCT
well in stock form, in the videos above from moscow unlim500, its cutting 1.6X 60fts on tarmac/street so it would seem its improved since tuned W212's have hard time doing that even on prepped tracks
