AMG Sports Seats in the new E63S - Are they ventilated?

Do the AMG Sports seats in the 2017s/2018s have ventilation, or just the adaptive seats?

I'm inclined to believe they do too. Thank you for your quick response. Those sports seats look fantastic.

Definitely go sit in them if on the fence. Fairly snug and firm. The standard seats are impressive too.

Are you talking about the $2500 optioned AMG seats? If so, I don't believe they are ventilated. I pretty sure in the C63 with sport seats you cannot get them ventilated and they look very similar to those. The seats are to thin and therefore do not have enough room for the ventilation system.
Good luck.

Not sure on the E63 but the GT's AMG performance seats do have ventilation.

I did not know that. I did a quick build earlier and could not find a way to even add ventilated seats as an option, which I found as weird. I find it hard to believe MB is allowing an option (ventilated seats) to be standard when they could charge something for it. I'll look more later.

Do the sport seats have the massage feature? I had a new E300 loaner for a day and those seats blew away my AMG seats in every category. In fact, the massage feature was one of the only reasons that made me reconsider not ditching AMG for Audi next time around.

the standard multi contour seats (known as standard seats) do have massage function in them.

I don't believe the performance seats have this function.

That's a shame.

The massage is probably one of the reasons why the seats are made larger in size than the performance seats...

Ventilated seats are standard regardless of seat, all of them have it (per my dealer and the DOG.) Multicontour/massaging not available on the performance seats for obvious reasons.

Not to resurrect this topic, but can someone who has the AMG Performance Seats confirm that they're ventilated in the e63s? I'm interested in the wagon, so that'd be ideal, but I assume the wagon and sedan are the same in this respect. I'ved looked at numerous interior pics but haven't been able to make out the door controls in any car with the performance seats. Thanks!

I have the performance seats and they are ventilated and have used the feature quite a bit.

Great, thanks everyone. Still my #1 argument against the Tesla (with the wife), lol.

Bumping an old thread to ask those with the performance seats how happy they are with them in daily driving?

Are they too stiff, too difficult to get in and out of, any other concerns?

It looks like they're a more comfy variation of my GT-R seats.

Thanks

I love them, as the support is excellent. You either fit in them or you don’t. I like firm seats, and they have lumbar and thigh extension adjustments. Have only driven 3 hours straight, and we’re fine. E63 setup is excellent with regards to steering wheel and pedals.

It's interesting that I just saw this thread. I have only driven my car around 200 miles in the first week of ownership and I think I may regret ordering the sport seats. I love the way that they look and feel to the touch but I feel like getting into the seats is a strain on my lower back. I have a brief history of sciatica but it hasn't acted up in a while. I may be jumping the gun here because I also worked out pretty hard on Wednesday and that may have triggered it. Anyway, the seats are great, but I may not be! My seats have A/C and heat...

I have them too and I have no back issues derived from the seats. Yes they are not as padded but that's the intent- a more race feel seat that supports aggressive driving. If I had pre existing back conditions the regular seats (Performance is the less padded seat) would be my choice without hesitation. I have driven both and in reality I could live with either but my ED1 only comes with the Performance Seats.

As for the ventilation; its not great. My RS7 with the comfort seat option is much much better. I can feel the air blowing thru several layers (eg suit jacket) when Im too lazy to take it off for a quick run to the bank or whatever.

I've had four back surgeries and think the sport seats are perfect except for the wimpy ventilation setup..

Related question—with the AMG Sport Seats, can the driver side still control the passenger seat?

Curious, as this would be a key feature to prevent my son from kicking the passenger seat back...
