What a waste: Edition 1 E63's sitting at the Long Beach VPC collecting dust (pic)
I had a few friends who were able to take a private tour of the VPC last Saturday and they got this pic (apparently pics are not allowed). This is just sad that these amazing cars have to sit until the Lord knows when. At least they are inside:
And they said probably 50 GTR's going nowhere fast:

go fast grocery getter wagon
I see they are all NOT wrapped from the factory, for sure, if they are parked outdoors for such extensive period of time ... I fear the wear on the paint, interior, etc. ....

just one so dont worry--- the GTR thread is about their cars. At least its real and relevant.
They cant sell them yet if they are there. Or they are distributor cars.

The heresy of these cars just sitting and collecting dust is strong. I wonder how many of these are pre-ordered and their buyers are none too pleased.
I plan on ordering mine by October to December. At this rate, who knows if they'll be out by then, but I'd rather avoid ordering a car and it sitting in the docks just waiting.

No all of the VPCs are storing these cars inside. I have seen photos of the Baltimore, MD VPC and while I'm not going to post them, the cars are NOT indoors. My dealer has told me that if I have any qualms about the car that shows up that I am completely free to back out. They have also explained how completely stupid it would be for MB AMG to release cars that have sat since April that now have issues. I was also told that they are driving the cars every week so there will be milage on the car based on how many weeks they have sat. I'm buying an E63S and an GTR at the same purchase so they have been VERY forthcoming with information given that's a damn house worth of cars.

Did they give you update as to release date. My dealer has no clue regarding release date

Yes not many miles. They can't even drive around the lot. They just cycle the parking spots. That guy Brian obviously can't afford a single one of these cars making his "house" comment so I wouldn't believe any of it.
QUOTE=stealth.pilot;7268669]Presumably they can only drive the car around the VPC lot since they aren't cleared for release. Hopefully not too many miles...[/QUOTE]

The dealership I'm using told me their E63s had the wireless charging option pulled. Not sure if that is true among all models, as he said they had some other models still showing up with that option (just not the AMGs). Could be a fluke.
