Shifting Issues E63S Edition 1 3500 miles - Case Opened with MB
Main Complaint(s):
Shifting Issues
1-2 (WOT - Comfort, S, S+) The car will shift to 2nd at WOT and it feels like the front end of the car gets ripped out from underneath you, then it take off again. I didn't even try RACE Start with this condition present, figured it would result in broken metal.
4-3 @ 4200rpms (Any Mode), it clunks into 3rd, if you do this going into a corner the car completely unsettles and gets out of sorts.
6-2 when coming from a stop, rough shifts, jerking
Hunting for Gears after coming to slow roll, trans couldn't decide what gear to be in at 18-20mph left turn and slammed into 3rd
Generally rough shifting high noticeable in Comfort
Dealer has had the car since Saturday (Towed In) - Wasn't going to risk a broken trans, that's why we pay for mBrace, right?!
At first played the "cannot reproduce" game, however my salesmen took time out of his schedule to demonstrate to the technician.
4 days into it, they couldn't find a darn thing. They then reset the Adaptations (18 E63S only has Stationary Adaptations I'm told), Problem is even more present now.

Good luck!
albeit most people don't seem to have this problem
hope this gets fixed!

When they started ripping apart my brand new 2014 E550 in 2014, I told them to take the car back
But if you're leasing who cares
this is not the $135,000 experience I would have paid for
I feel everything got a bit out of hand with these newer transmissions which ultimately leads to problems. No doubt complex w/ all the additional parts required. I feel the same about this stop and start nonsense at lights and does it really make that big of a difference?! The only exception to the rule for me is a CLK 63 Black Series. I get a good feeling about this one.
I hope everything works out for the op! I could not help myself and had to respond to this specific post. I’m pushing close to 500hp on my 208 55 w/ the stock trans and drive the car hard. GL!

By “Benz” you must be referring to Chrysler. Daimler was a different story and their 722.622 was a bulletproof trans in every aspect considering it receives a service every 80-90k. Next would be the 722.328 and 722.365 which was a bulletproof 4 spd, but not so eager to shift like the 722. These are the definition of robust and capable of a good thrashing every single day of the week.

Does this justify a new trans @ 3.5k miles?? AMG is not at fault, it appears Chrysler cannot keep up with things on their end.
An SL73 was equipped w/ a 5 spd trans from Daimler. How times have changed..
