I am only creating this thread because I realize that there are other E63s here with features that are either missing on ours or behaving different than our launch edition.
All of which so far are completely insignificant but still nice to have or want to have. What I have found so far...
1. No NFC charging - Ash tray & Cigarette lighter socket instead of NFC charging pad with USB-CarPlay interface - Would have liked the charging for my iPhone X but think the USB location is not useful. Our CarPlay interface is in the center arm rest/storage which is more practical. So far this is good for using the RD until permanently wired.
2. Apple CarPlay - Only rotary knob works as a control. The steering wheel touch pad and on center console touch pad are non-functional. I had driven another E63s where all worked...
3. Vehicle rising/lowering - No lowering message - lowers so slowly I can't even tell on the display
4. Camera based input of speed limit signs doesn't seem to work - for Distronic or in general. I only see the often wrong speed limit data from the NAV system - While I don't care about the Distronic part I like to know the current speed limit in case I didn't see the sign. Why have it if it doesn't work. The Menu system for Assistance varies from other builds.
5. There is a consolidated engine/vehicle data screens that the launch edition doesn't have. That one I like and wouldn't mind having - So far I was told that the command software is the latest rev but clearly there are different menus and screens in Comand.
From what I can tell is that these may not be launch edition but build-specific. Ours was an April build so I assume that they have that earlier rev. software or maybe hardware than some Aug-Oct builds.
Apart from that I really like the launch edition bits (am even getting used to the stupid decal ). The matte black is cool. Looks great when the car is clean (it's winter weather here) and really brings out the bulges on hood and fenders; more menacing and it does make the car stand out from the sea of other E-Classes. I think I may have the only launch edition in the state but there could be a second one.. It's a rare bird...

These are all things that was listed as available by Mercedes on their website
We are missing the "AMG Track Pace App" as well - (Not available in the US App Store) - Believe it's missing from all US models
We are missing some AMG performance Menu's. Believe it's missing from all US models
We are missing Remote Parking - Believe it's missing from all US models
I believe you don't get NFC charging if you have the carbon fiber trim package, which we have on ours.
I have the speed limits everywhere, NAV, driver screen and HUD.
The camera speed detection works pretty amazingly - Where the camera pics up a posted speed limit and will update the limit on your screens the second you pass it. But automatically changing the cruise controls does not seem to work.
I have been traveling allot and have not put 1k miles on my car yet so wondering if any of the additional screens will become available when I hit that.

At this point I was leaving out non-US versions but it would be nice to hear if there are any differences to the Canadian model (besides the color)
Glad to hear that your camera is working. I will try to change different settings to see if that makes a difference...
I think mine was disabled by default, you need to enable it.

And the ambiant colors management menu is not the same in the launch edition. We can’t have differents colors in the same time and no cold-hot colors changes associated with the climate controls.

Correct. This is the only color option choice. Rest is brightness only...
It's weird my car did not get the NFC charging and it was produced Sept 15th and it's got the glass black center console trim not the carbon fiber. Guess they ran out of the nfc charger pads or something?

My car was built on 10/10 and has the CF center console and NFC/Qi charging. It also has more lighting options as well as the speed limit adoption feature.
The latest DOG I have for the w213 US e Class Sedan states that its Standard Equipment.
But in the Earlier DOG's they listed it as optional for Premium Package 1, 2 and 3

1. Have Car in Ignition 1 Spot
2. have it display trip data(total Miles"
3. Press and hold Home Button on the left side steering wheel.
4. Within a second or show when the screen changes press the "OK" Button on the left steering wheel
5. It will now enable a workshop option for you

Where did you enable the camera for traffic assist?
We need to get other on this board to check their versions.
Would be interesting to see if its the HW or SW versions that differ.

Thanks! I may have an issue with the cameras as that is the setting I had before.
I have a 10+page Xentry printout of every modules hardware & software version, vendor, etc.
All said though, the only thing I care for is the consolidted vehicle data screen and improved CarPlay

I do not have the launch edition and I have the earlier software it seems on my command system. I have the exact same screens and options as the launch edition cars.
My ED1 only has the older color options as well. Some other things that make me wonder:
1. I hook my ipod up with a usb cord and when I change the song forward or rewind, it takes 10 seconds to register.
2. Live Traffic doesnt always pop up on the nav or takes 5 minutes or longer to register
These are not deal breakers but why does my car process shi..t like a Commodore 64.
Can you guys lookup the software and HW version numbers from the maintenance screen and post them here?
