Out with the Old In with the New

Just received it yesterday. I'll take better pictures when the sun comes out.
I'll be interested to get back into my W212 (next to the W213) when I bring it in for an oil change next week and feel the differences.
W213: Selenite Grey Met., CCB, Carbon exterior trim pieces

Interesting to see them side by side. I like how they moved the hood break line up top and off the side body line. Much cleaner line as it fades toward headlights.

I agree, also I like the front end of the W213 better and the picture allows for a nice view.

Congrats! Curious to ear how they compare. I like the styling of the new one, but the 212 will always have that classic look. Plus pre-ped safety front end being lower is more pleasing to my eye.

The W213 front end I think looks more aggressive with the wider (and higher) look. Both great cars...

Interesting side by side picture, actually the cars don't look all that much different. Some people who where not car guys might not even notice you got a new car, lol

So true! I just showed my wife that picture and she thought they were the same. They are both great looking cars.

Is it really that much louder? any clips?
Congrats. I'm contemplating trading my '15 wagon.

The sound with the valves open is a bit louder but of a different sound signature. Also, it pops and crackles upon deceleration as we have heard in the various video clips. I have the acoustic glass so the sound is more muted I suppose. When just driving down the freeway at a steady cruise it's not noticeable whether the exhaust valves are open or not - well maybe a tiny bit when open if you toggle the switch. I'm going to try the comparison again in a few hours.

When the exhaust is in Sport mode and I accelerate it's definitely louder.

So out with the W212 or you are keeping it too? Those are both sweet rides. I'm impressed you went for the same look. My wife told me she'd kill me if I got the same color combo again, because (as she figures): why get a new car if not for the new looks?
Perhaps it is due to the angle of the shot, but the hood of the new car looks shorter than the long, relatively flat W212 hood. And the wheels look enormous comp to the older car.

Enjoy and safe driving.

Thanks. I should sell the car but it has a lot of miles, though there's still 15k miles left on the factory extended warranty. I guess I'm keeping it for now.

The wheels are a bit big looking and I really wanted to move to 19s but I was talked out of it - for now.
