Stock 213 with 4 slicks quarter mile

I wonder what a stock 213 would do in the quarter mile with slicks on all 4 corners? Perfect DA? Any guesses? 10.8? Might be an interesting experiment. Even though you might think tires are slipping a little bit they are and that eats up time off the line and at the start. 4 good slicks would get you the perfect transfer of power to the pavement. With a tune maybe 10.5 would be possible?

You think it's slipping enough that it would go from 11.1-11.3 down to 10.8?? You got me curious too now;

it takes a lot of power to make those tenths disappear as you approach 11 seconds ...

even GAD and Vasily haven't run their 1/4 miles in slicks that I'm aware of on the w212 amg builds

Don’t forget your tire warmers since you can’t burnout on the fronts. Otherwise you’ll go slower..

Werd,

Crashed on a warm up lap in front of Anthony Gobert in turn 3 at Streets of Willow on cold tires in December at like 20 MPH - first left hand turn. Cold track, cold tires.

First race as an expert and didn't have tire warmers yet. No damage done, but very embarrassing. Had them for the next race weekend. What a huge difference!

I can't imagine not having warmers in novice, let alone expert?

My novice year we were racing mostly at Buttonwillow where the temps were warmer. None of the other novices had them either so we were all on par. Take the first few turns easy and work some heat into them. It's a long lap so by the end they were fairly warm. Plus the novice guys are much less aggressive into turn one.

The difference after tire warmers though was huge. I had no idea what I was missing. Even on the warmup lap you could push fairly hard into the first turn. Maybe a little shimmy and then they were feeling pretty hooked up. Huge difference in turn one, no rolling it in and feeling for grip, instead you could just go for it.

BTW, Anthony set a lap record at the Streets of Willow that day.

I wonder though if my idea might create issues from hooking up too much. A few people here have had drivetrain issues already with their cars, quick burn and Limey and one other and with the car hooking up so good with slicks might make the potential for this problem even worse.

It’s not the scuffing them that makes them stick, it’s the heat.

Hot new virgin sticker tires will grip a lot better than cold previously scuffed in tires.

Lesson learned, thankfully no damage done, just a bit of embarrassment.

BTW, misremembered the month, it was February, not December, but still cold.

Slicks caused hellcat stock drivetrains to fail as well ... too grippy
