If there's no E53 sedan for the 2019 model year, then the question is why they discontinued the E43... I think the reason is the E450. The engine power is too close now. People aren't likely to pay 10%+ more for the E43 (similarly equipped) just for a tiny bit of extra power, a couple of different suspension parts, and different tuning. The other problem for the E43 is the BMW M550i which actually costs less when similarly equipped, while offering a twin-turbo V8 which provides a lot more power.

Getting one of the last 2018 E43 cars instead of the 2019 E450 means not getting the new steering wheel which is much nicer and with better controls, particularly for the cruise control. It also means not getting the route-based speed adaptation for driver assistance, and any other improvements/fixes introduced in the 2019 model year. Also, lower resale value because it's "one year older".

The E43 was a great car. Too bad they discontinued it without introducing a real replacement. No E53 sedan, and the E450 isn't quite an equivalent replacement.

Yes very much enjoy watching the races and have gone to the one in Montreal for the past 12 years. I have to admit I am a Ferrari/McLaren fan mostly for Raikkonen/Alonso although I must admit admit Mercedes has been killing it.
It is likely Ferrari's reliability issues will resurface making this another close season.
ESPN's coverage has definitely improved from Australia (it had to!) but I still miss Hobo and Matchett.

Yea I was sad to lose the NBCS F1 guys.. I like Ferrari and Mclaren... honestly I only dont like Renault (like Hulk and Sainz though) and Red Bull.. Im cool with everyone else..I root for Force India since Im from India.. and its Mercedes powered. Like seeing the Alfa Romeo moniker back, I like Frank Williams team, and Haas is US ..

Yes because of the E450 and the CLS53..

The AMG gets you AMG track days, badges, suspension, bigger brakes and more AMG-ness.. thats a word

Dont think the non AMG's are getting the new steering wheel.

The 18's will be here soon for the most part, not late in the year.. I'd only worry if they were still here in Sept/Oct..

BTW I will do decent deals on these 43's

The 2019 non-AMG models (E350, E450) are getting the new steering wheel according to the order guide.

By the way, I just looked up the pre-paid maintenance plan cost for the E43, and it's $1,965 for 4 years, while it's only $1,545 for the E400. The extra charge must be for making sure the AMG-ness is still in good shape!
