Upcoming comparo in Sport Auto M5, E63s, Panamera Turbo-S E Hybrid and CTS-V
Sport Auto in Germany has compared the new M5 against the E63s, the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E Hybrid and the CTS-V. Those guys are highly respected for their tests and reviews (they also did the Nurburgring AMG GTR record run).
Here is a first teaser only with a speedo comparison to 300kmh. E63s won, CTS-V was slowest and ran out of runway before hitting the 300 mark

It looks t me like the M5 had the lead for the majority; hard to say by how much given the lack of an analog speedo but my best guess (fun to speculate) is he's a car length in front until the upper 200Ks.

Too bad that video had no narrative. Some comments pointed to the MB's refresh rate of the speedo. We'll know once there is actual data...

Just came across the comparo from AMS (Auto, Motor und Sport) of which Sport Auto is part of. One of the two major German Car mags. It's not online yet but the printed version is posted on BimmerPost.
Interesting read (in German only unfortunately) but both cars were rated rather equal (no loser) with a slight edge to the E63s. MB faster too plus higher fun factor. Who would have guessed; they actually liked the suspension comfort of the MB better.
Interesting for Germans is that the insurance rate for the M5 is 30% higher than the E63s. Those guys must have a reputation there
