The new Mercedes-AMG E53 4Matic+ has landed in Britain, where they can be ordered from £61,835 ($86,173) for the Saloon and £63,835 ($88,960) for the Estate.
Looks to be about the same 0-60 time as the E43. Are these available in the US for 2019 or is this only Europe? That may dictate how fast my E43 depreciates!

Seems a bit faster to accelerate than the E43 (0.2sec faster 0-62). The driving experience should be better with the E53 - less lag, better engine sound and smoothness. My dealer just informed me that it will be available in the US for 2019, but it's likely to be a few more months before it can be ordered.
The depreciation on the E43 is likely to be massive now, sorry to say.
the mild-hybrid performance powertrain now powers the sedan and wagon as well. It’s a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six with a 48-volt EQ Boost system.
The internal-combustion engine produces 435 horsepower (320 kW) and 383 lb-ft (520 Nm) of torque. That’s more power (but a touch less torque) than the existing E43, which offers 396 hp and 384 lb-ft. But the EQ Boost kicks in an extra 22 hp (16 kW) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) to bring the combined total output up to 457 hp (340 kW) and 567 lb-ft (769 Nm).
Im pretty sure the extra HP and Torque from the electric motor is not peak. So it does not add to peak hp or torque at all. The peak HP is still 429hp and 384lb/ft

If I was a betting man (I kinda am) I'd punt that the mid life upgrade for the E63 will replace it with something called the E73 AMG. It would have the current M177 engine with similar power and torque and also roll in this car's 48V electrical system complete with a MGU for a total of 650+ hp. It would get a panamericana grill like the C63 just did to differentiate it aesthetically from the E53. This would help it keep up with the inevitable M5 ZCP that's coming soon.

Will the new steering wheel for 2019 E63S also have the touch buttons described above (like the AMG GT 4 door)?

The 63 in the short term will match the engine specs of the AMG GT 4 door at 630 some HP. That will take care of the M5 ZCP (with close to 700hp on the dyno).
The 73 will feature a hybrid at 800hp just like the GT 4 door concept.
Then they will downgrade the 63 model to an in-line 6 hybrid with higher power e-motors to match the V8 power.
Did I just say that? Sorry. The E-class will stop at the 63. The 73 will not make it to the E-class...
