That sucks. Sorry about that.

Mine is baltimore bound as well - due 0700 8/10 on the Hoegh Yokohama - the ship is out of range of AIS so that is a good sign its on open water -

Ugh, trying to be zen about this but October sounds ridiculous. Ordered this car in DECEMBER of last year, so 10 months to wait when the car is physically a few hours away just seems ludicrous. If they don't release the MY19s soon, I feel like Merc is going to have a couple of challenging sales months in August and September!

The EPA situation has plagued car imports since last year—Porsche had cars stuck at port for several months also—and makes most sense as the “culprit” for why our cars are / will be stuck. Let’s hope for some good news soon.

For the Porsche example, were they engines already used / certified for the US? I get it for a new car / engine, but nothing should be different from an EPA perspective for MY19.

Lack of certification was what I was told today as the reason for the delay.

Good question—for sure the new engines were held up, not sure if carryovers were to the same extent. I also wonder as some cars used same engines but may have had updates to engine management software, if those got looked at also.

I ordered my E53 about 6 weeks ago and the SA told me that with it being a new engine in that particular car, that he expected some delays but....

Good point software changes may take even longer to analyze and be more scrutinized after VW Dieselgate.

With all the delays of multiple months, do we have any leverage to negotiate additional discount or deals on maintenance packages from dealers. It would be major disappointment to have an August delivery, but not get the car to October. Giving me maybe a month of decent weather here in NY. There has to be some accountability on MB part, no?

Not really, it's usually a take it late or not at all situation. Some dealers may give up some margin or add-ons as a courtesy but they want to sell it to you just as soon as you want to have it delivered. Mercedes corporate will just write off the postponed sales numbers and move on. They can't really do anything if it's regulatory red tape holding up the car.

So I went through my spec sheet from the dealer and low and behold they had made a number of mistakes including getting the wheels and seats wrong.

I pulled them up on it and now they are mentioning delays...

I’ve threatened to pull the order of that happens due to their mistakes.

Honestly, this order process has been really poor, not impressed.

What a bunch of clowns! If I were you, I would most likely walk away from that deal, unless they promised another car within reasonable time frame. Lesson learned though - always make sure you see the final build sheet first, before they file it away; and always get a copy of that final build sheet. My dealer required me to review the final build sheet, and confirm its accuracy via email (record keeping for both parties).

Good news: Looks like MBZ is at least getting some movement on CARB approval: https://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/onroad.../2019/2019.php

Bad news: Only seeing the GLA

Maybe they finally made it to the M’s. If so I suggest they change the name to AAAMercedes Benz.

Good to know. I’m assuming timing of release similar to USA? And no word on C or E?

I may have to consider my options if my August delivery is delayed till mid October. That gives me about 2-3 weeks of decent driving weather if that. I told the SA when I ordered the car that I wanted a car in August or not until spring. Of course, it will come during the time I didn’t want it. Can’t believe there isn’t better communication within the organization. This isn’t their first shipment of cars
