Don't count on that one, sorry bub. I've had no luck with corporate MB involvement unless it's a serious matter that needs to be resolved.
That depends on the vehicle, and the answer to what info is very broad. I can do a lot with a VIN. From spec-sheets to build statuses and upcoming models, pipelines, options, packages, etc. I have access to all MB internal network systems, including NetStar, and paired with a few years' experience I can answer most questions or at least provide guidance and point you in the right direction!

My car should be in Brunswick Sunday. I was told no-go on the HUD due to parts availability. Can you tell if my car has it installed? Thanks in advance.

I actually ordered a 2018 February 5th, by the time they got an allocation there were no more 2018 slots left. Then they told me they were taking no orders with HUD do to supplier issues. I told them to move forward. Didn’t want to lose a build slot, waiting for an undetermined time, for an unknown supplier issue.

Good news is as an ‘18, your car shouldn’t be held once it arrives! Please post pics after you take delivery!

Understood. Okay whew. Would have been odd for them to accept a spec and churn out a car minus some options. So they did get your approval to skip it at the time of order lock then.

You're looking good to go from what I see
You shipped out on the 13th aboard the Orchid Ace; I believe you can track most ships online. Everything seems to be in order from what you described - your wheels are wrapped in Pirelli's, and your HUD looks to be on there with no deletion credits or notices. I've attached a copy of your spec-sheet below. You should be arriving at the VPC soon!
Nice choice on the Burmester 3D System, gotta have that for sure.
Food for thought, I have had a vehicle arrive that was missing an option once before. It was not disclosed before the vehicle arrived, and long story short turned out to be a build error with a long resolution process. One in a million type thing, but I've learned that anything is possible. I've also seen an E350 delivered with a euro-spec diesel gas cap by mistake - and a subsequent fuel tank replacement. Crazy world we live in..

i went out in a limb with the metal weave trim as I was unable to find an example anywhere to look at in person and few pics online. I liked what I did see and hope I love it in person.

I think the metal weave looks really nice, fwiw. Ended up choosing CF since I ordered the car, but would have been happy with the weave. Good luck on the delivery.

Right, but as long as they are not released, they can be subjected to the same price increase by Mercedes. The price increase to the customer is likely to be effective on all cars released from the VPC after the tariffs come into effect. I doubt that they will release with different prices depending on when the car cleared customs. It would be a complicated mess, and it would lead to dealer mark-ups. I would expect them to release all cars with the new higher pricing when the tariffs come into effect regardless of when customs was cleared.
The hope is that they will release the cars from the VPC before the tariffs come into effect, but if the release date is in September, then this is unlikely because the tariffs will most likely be imposed in August, which would lead Mercedes to raise prices before the September release.

Some good news!
https://www.wsj.com/articles/wilbur-...d=hp_lead_pos6
WASHINGTON—Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said Thursday that it is “too early” to say whether the Trump administration will move ahead with proposed tariffs of up to 25% on imported vehicles and auto parts.
Speaking ahead of a hearing in Washington, Mr. Ross said the government is still analyzing whether it will impose tariffs on national security grounds, following a similar move on metals imports earlier this year.
“It’s obvious by the attendance here this morning how vital this industry is to the U.S. and global economy,” Mr. Ross said.

As I mentioned to v8plus4, not everyone has access to all parts of NetStar, including the section where this information can be found. NetStar has undergone significant structure changes lately, and there has been no training on any new systems. What I've found and where, is all self-taught and learned as I move through NetStar to better acquaint myself for my clients. NetStar is not perfect, either. I've seen data be misrepresented in NetStar before.
I also mentioned to him that my intention is not to cause distress between a customer and their dealership/point of contact, only to help out and provide input where I can.
I respect the Mercedes-Benz brand, and it is about customer satisfaction at the end of the day - doesn't matter where it comes from.

Looks like my2019 sedan is on a ship heading for Baltimore..

Interesting, my e63s wagon is also on the Orchid Ace and scheduled to be in Long Beach, CA on Aug 7. I'm surprised they put it on a boat that goes to an East Coast port before heading south, but maybe that's common.
Anyway, super excited but hoping the release is some time in August.

the typical shipping route always goes from Bremerhaven to the East Coast places like Brunswick GA, Baltimore sometimes etc.. and then through the Panama Canal and finally making its way to the West Coast. Is your dealer also in SoCali?

No, dealer is in NV, so I guess the car will be carrier'd out that way after being VPC'd in Long Beach. Someone mentioned there might be a vessel switch at GA as well before heading to CA.
I'm in the SF Bay of course, so I'll probably have it shipped back to me. I'd love to drive it back from NV but want to get a full wrap and I'd be paranoid about rock chips coming down 80 from Lake Tahoe. A ton of semis on that road kicking up dust / rocks / debris.
my E Coupe is also on the Orchid Ace that’s scheduled to arrive at Long Beach same day.

oh okay.. from my past ordering expierence with MB the ship it leaves Germany is the ship it’s always arrived at Long Beach port... when they stop at the different ports they drop off vehicles and load others.. but never really change the vehicles to an entire new vessel. I’m in Los Angeles so mine should be at the dealer soon as MB finally release the cars.. from what I heard it should be mid August.

Well, day 10 in VPC BAL with nothing to report. Delayed release almost certain. It normally would have been delivered to the dealer by now.
