I am about to purchase a E63 and want to see the phone for Waze etc, what kind of mount are you using and where do you put it?
If you are using an iPhone. iOS 12, officially releasing around Sept, will allow 3rd party map products (i.e. Google Maps, Waze) to interface with Car Play. I'm unsure if what level of interrogation will be available, but may be something to look into. I have the beta version on my phone but no Car Play in my current car. I can test it in my daughter's car when I get home from work.
The maps should come right up with the apple car play on the cars screen, at least they do with me. I actually like the iPhones nav better than the built in nav in the car. I kinda feel like mounting the phone and looking at it while driving is just one more distraction and possible reason for a accident.

i use a Kenu vent mount that you can see in the picture. It's easy to view and manipulate the screen while on the go. I usually have a coiled USB/Lightning cable plugged in to keep the phone charged.
I hope that Escort Live, which I use, will be available with Airplay at some point.

I hope you are not paying for Escort live because it is not worth it. Unless you have Escort RD installed then you get it for free. If not just use Waze which is free, better and more people use it.
Escort is in the decline right now with their bad support and not fixing lots of problem in their products.
Wow glad I got a Radenso this time around. Very happy with it. To me mounting the cell phone and trying to look at while your driving is not a safe practice.
I’m subscribed to the Apple developer program for IOS and Mac so have access to the beta releases, but I usually wait for the final release before upgrading.
Seems like in this case it’s the Waze beta I need.
This works great for me as you can manipulate it's position really well. So I keep it just infront of me when I am using waze or GM as it does not distract you at all and your eyes are on the road. The air vent one as one of the members linked above, would need you to take your eyes of the road periodically, which I love to avoid. And its hassel free to put on and off as it is magnetic. Super convenient.
If you absolutely want to go with something in the centre console then use this, it does not block your air vent and who cares of CD Drives anymore anyway?:
I'm guessing won't be much longer till the Waze version for iPhone is released. Looking forward to it as I'm stuck with iPhone for the foreseeable future.
