i'm in the same boat, but for a sedan.
i still have plenty off time until the spec lock time and i am stuck for now with obsidium black with the cross-spoke black wheels, keeping the chromes. it is the more classy and standard combo and my wife is all about black for cars...
however it is a dirt magnet and builds more heat as I live in a more sunny country. that's one of the reasons i selected the acoustic package.

the selenite gray with the night package looks beautiful, but on the other hand it gives too much of a understate feel to the car... i'm not looking for a flashing car but the grey after a while gives me a sense of "meh"... it is not flashy but it is not that classy... don't know how to put it :|

place a full PPF protection with matte finish and spare the money on the matte paint! no need for it. get yours in selenite gray or obsidian black, or any other shiny color.

What does full PPF cost? Seems to me that I was seeing folks quote prices for a full wrap that were greater than the $3950 list price for the Magno finish.

Now, on the plus side for the wrap, you can pull it off in a few years when it's starting to show wear and your underlaying paint is still brand new.

I'm really happy with my grey Magno paint. I get a lot of comments about it and a year and a half in it still looks great. Very easy to take care of, just a simple wash and dry no waxing or special treatment.

Thing is most people end up putting clear bra on their cars anyway, so the argument is for a little more you wrap the whole car and get the matte effect if you want. I just think that’s the rationale. I have a pearly white car so I went a different route but just saying.

Plus if you’re plagued by crap weather does the Magno hold up well with salt and snow? That’d be a consideration for people living in the northern states.

the full PPF can cost anything between $3,5k to $7k. anything lower or higher and you are being ripped off. best to aim to $4,5k.

i really don't get it how a matte paint is easy to keep. i am very unlucky with my cars. for much i treat them with care i always get:
1) some chip marks (speedy cars get more chips)
2) some chips and dents from people opening their doors or moving belongings from their cars
3) swirl marks or small scratches from washing the car OR drying the car

having a matte paint for me is impossible.

with a matte PPF one will not need a matte paint and will have protection from all of the above.

also one has to consider the environment where he lives. sunny place = less upkeep

@Dunga , the pearl white looks beautiful in matte/satin PPF.

Our E63s is our dedicated winter car in MN. Night Black Magno. There is nothing but salt, sand and rocks on MN roads during the winter time. We have no wrap on the car but it gets hand washed every week. Dr. Beasley products.

That car looks great! No chips, a couple minuscule marks on the front clip. Surprise is that the paint is stronger than glossy paint so far.
Had some bird dropping on the hood of our cars. Immediately etched the AMG GTC (magnetite black), no effect on the E63s...

Wrapping the magno paint kills the color detail (blue sparkles) and makes it look dull.

I just realized that I don't have any decent good weather pics of the car properly cleaned. Here are a couple iPhone pics. The paint is stunning in the sun. Really strange to see matte paint sparkle and impossible to take pictures of. But the close-up shows the colors in the black paint.

Wolfman that is a stunning looking car. Btw are you in the MNMB club? Do you go to cars and coffee at all? We try and make it down from Duluth when work permits.
