So my E63 S was built in April and it has Mobil One sticker (fill).
The question is what to use going forward 0 W 40 Mobil One, or 5 W40 MB, don't think MB makes a 0 W 40.
The car is a war weather car and most of the time in the winter it will be stored in a heated garage.

i would recommend to go with original 5/40 MB oil if you have hot climate,or Petronas 5/40 if you want to use MB approved oil.

I used to be an avid M1 user but I shifted to LM 5W-40 with Ceratec mixed to the oil, the car felt a lot more smoother after the shift. Apparently that ceramic coats the piston and ceramic wall so wear is reduced significantly.
Though I do notice the difference in between these two, it is not great enough for you to loose sleep over it.
The main variable by a long mile is your oil change interval than the brand of oil used. I greatly advocate to not do it in Mercedes's recommended interval. Half it. Do it at 10k kilometers instead of 20k. Way better for your engine. My car has 50k kilometers and my car's performance is unchanged.

Same here - switched from Mobil 1 to Liquid Moly and also used the Ceratac additive - couldn't be happier.Originally Posted by munis

I’d like to try Liqui Moly for my 1st oil change. Just curious, did you buy the oil and change the oil yourself or have a dealer do it? Also, did you go with oem oil filter? Cheers Originally Posted by Bahnstormer

Given that these oils are all top self factory approved products how can measure any real difference and what do know about the Liqui Moly additive?Originally Posted by Andrew-NY

Super easy job.

MB does not make ANY oil. You may choose to use whatever you want so long as it meets the MB specification. Look at your owner's manual.
My personal choice is AMSOIL.

Sounds good, thanks. I've never done an oil change myself lol; I always just let the dealer do it. Maybe I'll try the 1st oil change myself but I need to get a tool for the oil filter.Originally Posted by Bahnstormer

Normally I do simple services like oil changes myself, but for this car for the first time I elected to go the route of prepaid maintenance and the extended warranty. So, for at least the next several years I don't have to worry about it. But, if I were to do them myself, I'd probably go the Mobile 1 route.
