Also, not US but apparently Canada has also green lit all non-63s:

FWIW, there are a couple of dealer listing on the Internet with "photos coming soon" for the 2019 S560. Obviously does not mean they are released, but we can always hope.....

My 2019 S560 Cab arrived in Baltimore last week. I was told this morning by my dealer that he has been told it will be released sometime in early October.

Shahul, since you seem to much more helpful than who I ordered my E53 from in Florida, I ordered Black Nappa with Red Stitching Code 851and have yet to see the photo description. One I dug out of Google a few days ago had solid red arm rests and leg supports. Have you seen an actual photo for such in 19?
Please? I am getting nowhere from my guy.

Wow. So all the non-AMG E + S560...so about a month earlier than the internal schedule from last month?

I’m hoping we’ll get the E63S with plenty of time to go shopping for Thanksgiving Dinner?

You mean the HVAC vents are lit with the LEDs too? Will my 19 e63s have that?

Here's a picture from the new E-class brochure for MY19. Hope this helps.

They don't, but you can buy the CLS LED vents from the parts department, they apparently pop right in and someone said wiring them up was a breeze.

A few more CARB approvals today, SL63, SL550, SLC300. Looks like generally on schedule with the original post. Will be interesting to see the release timing of the S63 and SL63. Both have CARB approval but are slated for Mid-Q4, which would be Nov, and both before the E63s. If they get released early, probably a good sign for the E63s.

Agreed—I was looking at the same alternative as I was on the ledge before @Pertplus slapped me and dragged me back lol.

Love the Panny ST—but it would need to be a Turbo to be comparable in performance...and then the cost differential gets too rich for my blood.

Thanks for this. I admit to being perplexed at whether any of this matters given that we seem to have different opinions on this subject (i.e., the 2018 e63s already having a CARB EO). But transparency is obviously not a hallmark here....

It's more to track and anticipate the accuracy of the originally posted time frame then anything specific to CARB & E63s. I think CARB approvals provide (and have provided) good guidance to what is upcoming for release, and I'm extrapolating (assumption here), that if models (not e63s) are being released ahead of schedule then there is a greater likelihood of the e63s being released earlier (since there is no feasible reason to delay them in my mind). Thus I'm focused on the S560 release and then the S63 release.

It also feels good to know there is forward progress on releases when your car is sitting at the VPC and has been for over a month. Totally admit that this is more of an exercise to appease my lack control / influence in all this as well =)

No, I get that and appreciate it. I'm just wondering whether anyone knows whether the CARB approval is actually required for the 2019 e63s since it is the same engine as the 2018.

CARB approval is only needed to sell in Cali. 90% of the power equipment I buy clearly states non-CARB compliant. CARB compliant small engines don’t run worth ****. I understand MB doesn’t want to release if they aren’t CARB, since Cali is probably one of their larger markets.

Would this effect me if I have a december build date? My dealer said I should be looking expecting delivery end of January into February. Wondering if it would be pushed back.

If last year is any indication, my first week of January Wagon with CCB build ended up being a first week of April build after delays.

Damn, I really hope my Build does not get pushed back from 12/2D/18. I was hoping by than all these issues would be resolved.

CARB approval is needed each model year for a "family" of models that share an engine. For example, this is last years that covers the E63S. Scroll down to see the 2018 models this one approval covers. But whether or not the family changes, a new "Executive Order" is needed each year.

This is the page with the 2019 Executive Orders. You can watch for "NEW" daimler_... entries to see when our family is certified.
