The advanced system doesn't do local dimming in the US for making "holes" in the beam for oncoming traffic, but it does still do a neat "curtain effect" where the auto high beam LEDs come on sequentially from the center->outward...and if you come upon an oncoming car while they are sequentially lighting up, it recedes back to the center quickly, like a curtain closing. But if the high beam is already completely illuminated, they just fade out collectively. So it does makes use of the system's ability to use a matrix of LEDs to create an effect, just not one that involves other vehicles and selective dimming.

In Australia they also have lots of unique car rules. I used to wonder how Oz engineers thought that they were better than the Germans who had been producing top cars for a long time!
