Winter tires for the 2019 E63S

Hi guys!
New to the forum. I just picked up my 2019 E63S finally. I'm trying to sort some winter tires for it. I have the cross spoked wheels. I got the recommendation from tire rack that I can run pirelli sottozero, 255/35/R20 on the front and 285/30/R20 on the rear. What do you guys think? Thanks!

There is a W213 AMG forum further up the road where W213 AMG owners hang out. You'd be better off posting there.

Enjoy the ride...

Good choice for winter setup. I went the all-season route so that I don't have to change tires in the spring.

What did you go with? Happy so far? Anyone else go this route? Were you able to get the dealer to make the swap at no charge?

I bought Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS in OEM sizes. I have about 1000 miles on them and I am pleased with their performance. This weekend will get snow in NC so I might get a chance to try out snow performance.

245/40 19 sottozero all around is what I use on my E43. They work perfectly and with the right rims you wont even know they are skinnier. There is no need for staggered winter tires, in fact, its an oxymoron! You will also save a ton of money for rims and tires that will be dirty all the time.

I have been running Pirelli sottozeros on a Lexus GS-F for 2 years in NYC with no problems. Once you use winter tires, you wonder how you lived without them.

Well, we received 11" of wet snow. No problem negotiating snow covered streets. Car went up my driveway without any problem. Not sure that the summer tires would have worked in these conditions.

I put Pirelli Sottozero 3 on my 2019. Since taking delivery of the car, we have not had snow in the Potomac Highlands region of Western Maryland / Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. I am running 255/35R20 on the front and 29530R20 on the rear. MB of Hagerstown, MD installed the tires. The service my manager said the computer had no issue with the front diameters being ~1% larger than OEM -- ~8 revolutions more per mile. I have not pushed the car at all. Dry traction, sound levels, response are just fine. Traction in pouring rain with standing water was great. Both on highway and surface streets. My neighborhood has some steep hills so I will post more after we get our next snow. Perhaps later this week. @HBerman is south of me and the storm in the Carolinas stayed south of me (approximately the same latitude as Baltimore)

I'm running continental all seasons on my W213, but so far have only used them on dry conditions. Curious to see how they perform in light snow or rainy/slushy weather. Previous, on my W212 I had SottoZero II's and I had to literally drive through a blizzard and the vehicle was rock solid on those tires, even got great performance out of them in dry conditions in the winter.

I have the same sotto 3 set up on my 2019 e63. Had Mercedes put them on 255 front/295 back. No issues so far but only got the car Friday. Will see when we get some snow but so far there are no issues

I’m in New England. P Zeros for April to November. Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3s for December to March. It’s nice to have a softer tire when temps drop below 25, even in dry conditions.
Dealer quoted $5k for an OEM staggered winter set up. I cheaped out w a $3k square 19” package at a tire shop including a $100 storage fee. $250 rims. Makes my debadged look appear extra sleeper.

2019 E63S wagon
New user here - looking at winter tire setup for my 2019 E63S wagon. Currently on 20" summer tires.
I've been offered a set of AMG rims - front 8J x ET20 and rears 9J x ET49.
Can anyone say whether the fronts will clear the callipers?
As far as I can see the stock 19" rims have the same offset, so should be OK?

Assuming they are 19 inch

they may fit (still need to test fit the front to ensure they clear the big brake) but they will look a bit too small as they appear shrunk.

your only choice of size is 245/45/19 for square setup.

Factory e63s setup for 19 is:
19x9.5 et25 front
19x10 et55 rear

Thanks for reply!
Yes the front caliper is the big question, but the stock AMG 19" rims that the car can run on obviously work, so hopefully these will too!
I'm going for 245x40x19 at the front and 275x35x19 at the rear. These are 15mm smaller in diameter than the summer 20", but I bought one of the nifty suspension lowering modules and have lowered the ride by 20mm already, so I can drop it another 10mm if needed with the smaller tyres. I like the idea of going narrower (8J and 9J) with the winter tires.

If you have the ability to test fit the front especially, then you should do that before you are to pay.

I am not too thrill on having 35 series tires for winter as the roads you drive on may have many potholes.

Personally, I went with 255/40/19 square

Same, here, the Square 19 inch set I had for the 219 E63 Wagon preformed really well and the wheel/ tire package I got from TireRack had no fitment issues. Not to mentioned it was under 2K for tires and wheels and looked great! Pics are on a similar thread. Good luck.

I have a w213 E63 wagon. I want to run 19" wheels at least for winter, possibly year round. I love the OEM cross spokes, but they're only available in 20" for this car. Has anyone run the C63s coupe/cabrio cross spokes on the w213 amg?

Front is 19x9 ET25.
Rear is 19x10.5 or 20x10.5 ET57 (both sizes are available, so you can run 19/19 staggered or 19/20 staggered).

On paper, seems like this should fit with minimal affect on appearance or geometry. Any feedback appreciated.

It will work. The rear may need spacers to bring it back to factory spec. (5mm)
