Summer tires and Delivery Day
So I am going to be taking delivery tomorrow finally, after weeks of bull****. Will write out on that post what went down. But it is going to be 18- 37 degrees tomorrow (fahrenheit), will it be okay for me to get home? I will not have winter tires until next month. Can I run summer tires on days when the weather is dry and it is 40 degree weather?

There is risk of tire failure which will not be covered by manufacturer... Both pirelli and michelin have disclaimers that flexing the tire compound (ie driving) when tire temps are below 40 will cause irreparable damage.
be careful.
Edit... if you go when its 37, you'll be fine, at 18 the tire likely will not be ok.

Just be careful you really don’t wanna ding up your brand new shiny Mercedes. I live in Minnesota and right now it’s a balmy -10 Fahrenheit so I’d never drive summer compound in that. The manufacturer does warn about summer tires at sub 40 degree temps and especially at 20 or below. Some guys on the corvette forums have seen tires crack at below 20 (MPSS). I personally run snow tires on all the cars we own but in the occasion I get caught in snow fall at 28 degrees in April on summer tires I never had issues.
Have you ever driven a car this fast, on summer tires, in the winter?
As a side note, I need to move to Hawaii! This weather sucks. No hot dish is worth this crap.

The car is indoors currently at the dealership, so the tires will be at a good temp. Just wont be able to drive the car until the weather gets better until end of February when I finally get winter tires XD

If you store the car in a heated garage you would be ok.
The tires actually get warmer from normal driving.
When you pick up the car you will be able to take a nice drive.

The tire manufacturers explicitly state that the tires are not to be used below 45 degrees. Michelin additionally states in their warranty documents that if the tire has been stored below 32 degrees, that you must let it warm up for 24 hours before mounting or rolling the tire. The summer compounds will crack at low temps and you might not initially see the damage until chunks fall out when you are driving.

I ordered a set of bridgestone all season tires was going to just swap the tires since I have the wheel and tire warranty, but I wont get them until 2/15/18, I am just hoping the weather can go back up to 40+ degree weather so I can drive the car. I do not have a garage so I park my car in my driveway.

I am in Canada with recent temperatures in the -10 degree Celsius or lower and yet I am seeing Lambos, McLarens and Ferraris with their summers on still driving around. I sure hope they have bought life insurance coverages.

We did factory delivery in November last year. Temps were down below freezing regularly during the two weeks we were touring around in Europe.
The issues with delivery with summer tires were all presented to us as road law - technical, but not enforced unless you get stuck in the snow and block traffic. No mention was ever made of low temperature operation being an issue with the tires themselves.
We did park the car overnight outdoors on a number of occasions where the temps got down to 25 deg F or so. Generally drove away at a mild pace in town before making our way to a highway. Were still breaking-in the car so no high speed operations.
Tires survived OK till I wore them out at just under 10 k miles.

I run summer tires on both cars at those temperatures when it dips that low in Atlanta. I would avoid driving on snow or ice, but other than that you are fine. Even 40 degrees with rain isn't an issue. The Michelin PS4S are much more compliant in the cold, than older tires like P Zeros or PS2s.
