FS: Weistec catless DPs
I have some Weistec catless DPs that I just took off my car.
Weistec downpipes webpage
Less than 2,000 miles driven?
Loved them, but way too loud in the apartment complex I live in. My neighbors are all more "senior" and I was getting complaints. So sadly they had to go.
$2,200 shipped within the USA.

A few questions... Do you have to cut the OEM's to install the catless? How did you avoid the SES light from not having cats? O2Sensor extensions or tune? Did you have to drop your tranny to reinstall the OEM downpipes once you took off the catless?

I initially had my car taken to a place that cut the downpipes to remove them. This way you don't have to remove the transmission, steering rack etc. (TBH nobody has been able to tell me EXACTLY what has to be removed to do this work)
To put my stock DPs back in, they had to clean up the cuts, then add some v bands on each side and secure it. It works.
The other place that did the original work had planned to weld the pieces together in place. Remount the top, remount the bottom, clamp together, weld away. This would have been $500. Just have to be super sure the person doing it knows how to ground the operation correctly while welding.
The place that I ended up getting my DPs refitted, did a number on me about how the world will end if you attempt to weld items on a car, that it will fry all of your electronics. I've since heard from various people this might very well be BS. But too late now. So they did the v bands.
I think if you want to do it without cutting the DPs, yes you need to remove either the trans or steering rack.
I'm using a ECU tune to get around the CEL for the catless. If you're looking at a tune, I'd highly recommend a fellow here in the Bay Area who does hand tuned maps versus off the shelf products.

you can either tune ( lowering euro 6 standard) or use o2 spacers. I did second for now, but that will impact on car performance in boost wise

Would love to get more info about your Bay Area recommendation for custom tuning. Thank you!

One more question.
Do you have performance exhaust with valves or just standard exhaust?

Yep the cold start is the killer. My parking area is more of a large carport, which ends up acting like an echo chamber. lol

MBWorld Fanatic!
I rev it extra loud for the neighbors I don’t like who have their children scream bloody murder in the street while playing at 3pm when I’m trying to have a video chat meeting with clients

Hahaha. I did struggle with releasing the limited power I had to annoy the crap out of neighbors who believe leaf blowers are necessary at 7am every single day. Who cares I'm a shift worker.

Well, one fellow who was super keen, has now decided to go another path, so these puppies are still available! Come one, come all.
