Weistec W213 E63 W.3 Turbo Upgrade
#51
Going by Weistec’s last attempt at a W3 turbo kit, you guys should probably sit quietly before singing their praise. I have emails promising me I’d run 9s and that $20k kit couldn’t beat a stage 2 stock turbo RS7 let alone match their promises. And please don’t act like there aren’t several independent tuners that have proven themselves better than Weistec on “pieced together” turbo projects.

I really like Mercedes but it’s not a great tuner platform, period. It’s much easier to get big power and number out of Audi or BMW. I was in for service at my local Audi dealership about 6 months ago and they had a used 2018 Audi TTRS for sale. To kill some time I took it for a test drive and was really impressed so I bought it. It’s now tuned for E85 and has all the bolt ons plus an upgraded turbo from Iroz. It’s ungodly fast and cost me less than half of what it would cost to get the same numbers out of an AMG.

RS7. Took it to the track last night for the first time in 3000ft DA and the silly thing with its “off the shelf tune” ran a 10.43 on old 21” Continentals without even launching hard. It will easily run 10.2s with good tires, decent weather, and me learning how to launch properly.

What’s it pushing to the wheels? Is it just tuned or did you do downpipes/intake/exhaust?

Besides the tune, just DPs and intake sourced from an independent vendor. It trapped 132. Didn’t even bother with a dyno since it’s just an “off the shelf” tune and random parts.

Already so many are trying, it just doesnt launch as hard as RS7 it seems. I think the BMW has more finnicky TCU, and im also not sure its durable enough to handle huge torque in first gear either,

I spoke with GAD motorsports.
€27k ($30k) (with labor), but you have to pay to ship your car to them.
Air filters
Tune
GAD turbos
High pressure fuel pump
Blow off valve (lol)
Stage 1 transmission upgrade good for up to 1150Nm

The thing is, i certainly aint paying no $30k, plus shipping it out to germany and back to get it done. Also, if something goes wrong how would you deal with them to fix any issues?
