parts + labor tune outline

can i get an extra set of eyes here on what i might be missing / where i might be wrong?

catless downpipes
---
parts: $1.5k - $2k
labor: 2 hours

meth
---
parts: $500 - 1.5k
labor: 2 hours

air filters
---
parts: $200 - $300
labor: 0.5 hours

tune
---
parts: $1k - $3k
labor: 0 hours

hybrid turbos
---
parts: $3.5k - $5k
labor: 4 hours

total
---
parts: $6.7k - $11.8k
labor: $1k ($125/hr)
the only outlier is a CPC flash/replacement which right now, i don't know where to get/how much it'll cost/if it is even being sold to "normal" people right now, but i'd guess it'd be about another $1k-$2k

this ignores reinforcing clutches but... just don't launch? i don't think they'll slip too badly in 3rd / 4th / 5th, what do you guys think?

i know we all like fast cars and i know $10k is not a lot compared to the price of the car

what’s holding people back from really modding this car?

DP installation takes at least 4-5h if you are not dropping tranny, with tranny drop the countless amount of hours can be calculated.

Tune is not for everybody and many people will enjoy factory stable car without spending additional money on all that stuff. This is my 1st german car and I tuned it as all my previous cars (most of them) and now I can tell you that I won't do any performance tune anymore with my next cars. My car is stable and no issues anymore (i fixed flaps) but you can't simply flash up your ECU and enjoy, you always have to change anything else to make it strong and stable.

For me:
DPs $1300
DPs' coating $200
Installation $900
Tune: 2000
Dyno $400
Flaps issue costs me ~$500 but I spend over 2 months to figure out and find out tools that will help me and the right people.

Also, I spent lots of time to find everything that will fit my needs.

Who knows what I'll get next? Will see. But all those above are already enough to forget about the tune and run normal car )))

You also have a problem with warranty I assume, I think this is enough to not go with tune, isn't?

i didn't realize you found a fix for your flap issue. what did you do, the $500 pluggable controller or the xentry coding?

300-400 for the cables/hardware, then another $500 to you to remote desktop in and do the coding?

Coding is an answer.

No additional devices, no need to play with CAN-bus, takes 25 minutes to complete.

just to be pedantic, xentry coding is just the software sending the car commands over the CAN bus, correct?

yes.

When I'm saying "<...>not to play with CAN-bus<..>" - I meant not to plug in any piggyback devices.

do you want to share where you got the hardware + software to do it? if not for me, for other people who are going to look to do this. i think dav461 is providing a very good service by helping these guys on the forums out. if it is $300-$400 for some special xentry cables + a copy of the xentry software and then $100 to him to spend the time to remote desktop in and code, that is a very good value in my opinion.

I thought you are going to find misfires? LMAO

I did not buy anything.

You don't need to buy anything, find people who have proper tools and knowledge with Benz coding.

Or you can find a shop that has xentry and has TeamViewer on it there are people around who can perform that remotely.

I have disabled cats' warmup and all three flaps (permanently opened). No more power loosing, no rattling sound, no annoying cats warm up every start.

ok, now the answer is becoming more clear:

go to a shop that has xentry hardware, then have them perform the coding

now, i can bet that my local benz shop will have no idea what to do, and that they won't be too thrilled to ask me to leave my car there while i try to get some guy on teamviewer onto their computer

therefore

who do i gotta pay and how much to get them to outline the coding instructions to get this done, and then i will take it to my benz shop (which is much more realistic in my opinion)
