this ignores reinforcing clutches but... just don't launch? i don't think they'll slip too badly in 3rd / 4th / 5th, what do you guys think?
Tune is not for everybody and many people will enjoy factory stable car without spending additional money on all that stuff. This is my 1st german car and I tuned it as all my previous cars (most of them) and now I can tell you that I won't do any performance tune anymore with my next cars. My car is stable and no issues anymore (i fixed flaps) but you can't simply flash up your ECU and enjoy, you always have to change anything else to make it strong and stable.
For me:
DPs $1300
DPs' coating $200
Installation $900
Tune: 2000
Dyno $400
Flaps issue costs me ~$500 but I spend over 2 months to figure out and find out tools that will help me and the right people.
Also, I spent lots of time to find everything that will fit my needs.
Who knows what I'll get next? Will see. But all those above are already enough to forget about the tune and run normal car )))
You also have a problem with warranty I assume, I think this is enough to not go with tune, isn't?
damn, i am kind of sad to hear it. i understand, i guess the tuning culture just is not here in these forums. leave the tuning to the BMWs i guess?

I did not buy anything.
You don't need to buy anything, find people who have proper tools and knowledge with Benz coding.
Or you can find a shop that has xentry and has TeamViewer on it there are people around who can perform that remotely.
I have disabled cats' warmup and all three flaps (permanently opened). No more power loosing, no rattling sound, no annoying cats warm up every start.

go to a shop that has xentry hardware, then have them perform the coding
now, i can bet that my local benz shop will have no idea what to do, and that they won't be too thrilled to ask me to leave my car there while i try to get some guy on teamviewer onto their computer
therefore
who do i gotta pay and how much to get them to outline the coding instructions to get this done, and then i will take it to my benz shop (which is much more realistic in my opinion)
