European Delivery Round 1

Got back to Los Angeles, and the dealer had no idea how MBUSA missed the options - they showed me the order in which MBUSA had confirmed all of my options. Dealer canceled the order, gave my deposit back, and I ordered another one, which I'm going back to Stuttgart to get at the end of March - this time with my 9 year old son.
All in all - I'm happy that I get to experience the whole thing again with my son. But man, it's taking a lot of patience!

Wow, I had to cancel my first order because MBUSA couldn’t get the order correct. My dealer had to change the order three times before he finally cancelled it and redid the order. When I finally got it, it was correctly built.
Also, my plate was BB 45A.
Best of luck

My ED delivery was different from the original order, but not to the extent to refuse the car. There were few minor differences. Thew only one serious enough to complain was the steering wheel... however dealer was willing to order the new one once car arrived.

had many ED orders in the past, all matching the original order, so being naive this time was my mistake.

Since one is buying the Euro Delivery car directly from the manufacture with a commission to the dealership, it is extremely important to make sure ones configuration shows up on the MBUSA final invoice and confirmation of order as that is how MB will actually build the car (compare dealer configuration to MBUSA Invoice/Confirmation of Order). If one does this, the only way something can get built incorrectly is if the manufacturer makes a mistake which is a very slim chance. I worked very close with my dealership salesperson and Annedoris at MBUSA since she is the person in charge of Euro Delivery for MBUSA. Hopefully MBUSA and my dealer salesperson did not feel I was a pain in their backside but I know this can get screwed up so I "watched like a hawk". I even followed the delivery to the US so closely with followup that my car was delivered to me in the US 38 days after I dropped it off in Bremerhaven Germany at the ship. Just thought I would provide my 2 cents here for what it is worth.
We ordered the various options before the prices were out in the DOG and Mercedes web site wasn't yet open for configuring the options. We kept checking back until the confirmation was in and we finally learned how much the car was going to cost, and then checked some more because the order confirmation sheet grouped up some of the options differently than our initial order form. Finally, once the order was locked in and no more changes were possible we relaxed a bit.
When we got to Germany and were in the delivery process we checked everything against our order confirmation. Nothing was missing except the wheel locks and the chrome door handle inserts (my wife's finger nails scratch the heck the area under door handles), but we were told those would be installed at the VPC in the states - which they were.
The one option that was in the car that we didn't expect was the wireless charging pad in the center console even though we had carbon fiber trim. This was because it wasn't an available option when we ordered the car. The wireless charging/NFC and CF center console trim were mutually exclusive options on early order 2018. My car's build date was just a bit after the mid year refresh where apparently the restriction was removed.
The only thing missing up front in mine is the 12 VDC power jack. In cars built just a few weeks or a month later the front 12 VDC jack was moved up to near the passenger's left knee.
