Curious of YOUR tune...

New member with some back story. A year ago I picked up a 2018 e63 with about 5k miles on it. Going against my better judgement on why ANYONE would trade in such a perfect vehicle in such a short time, I took the bait. Had the car for about two months before CEL were getting thrown, three months worth of attempts by MB to fix fuel management issues with result being a lemoned buy back. Fast forward to today, finally took delivery of new 2020 model built just the way I've wanted. I've been leaning toward a tune since my first one a year ago.... my curiosity is... Regardless of vendor...Weistech, Renntech etc... How many miles do you have on your tune and what issues (if any) have you've had with it?? Appreciate any feedback

Up until the 2018 E63s, I would tune just about every car I had. With over 560rwhp stock, I don't see the point anymore. MB trans limit how much of that tune you can actually put to the ground so essentially you get a mild increase in pull as compared to stock with no real worthwhile acceleration times improvement over stock.

But if you want to, I would definitely say use a tuner near you. Someone you can go back to to fix issues should they arise.
All tunes will void your warranty, Renntech included.
So tune and have fun but don't buy into "the dealership gave me the tune, or "it's certified by so so and so" so I am covered" bullcrap.

I'm aware of the risks in regards to the warranty and am fully aware that anything happens is on me, that's why I'm curious of experiences. Everyone talks about the specs of the tune but rarely see anything regarding the livability. If anything Renntech would be my go-to. The car stock pulls 0-60 in 3.17...you'd conside 3 tenths off that and 5 tenths off the quarter not worthwhile?

I went with renntech but I wasnt looking for crazy numbers since i daily my car and track it. I am happy with what i got, I do 0-60 2.8sec. I got downpipes so I had to get a tune regardless.

Not until I see real world times backing up that claim.
My past experience with Renntech on a W212 was constant misfires when the car actually pulled hard. The dealer I used has switched to a local tuner, they no longer recommend Renntech

Eurocharged with downpipes for the past 7k miles 0 issues ; I now have 18K miles on the car and it’s been completely trouble free. I have the ability to reload stock tune to the ecu and go back and forth the difference between stock and tuned is very noticeable .

'22 Alpina B7,'21 G63 Renntech obviously (wife), Wrangler(kids)
I have S63 with Renntech turbo upgrade that came also with everything else they can offer for that car.
Use it daily, I drive very hard, often on the tollway at 4AM (to my warehouse) when I never see any cops on a virtually empty road.
Did the upgrade at 1k miles, currently have 7k miles, car runs absolutely perfect and I plan to keep it while the warranty is still with the car (dealer did the upgrade and helps as much as possible, I am aware that in case there is a fault caused by the mods, I am on my own but all else is still covered)

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
Mine is...

Renntech with their downpipes.
Yeah, expensive. Always has been. But even from my old 500E and 129 days, they really did work. And still do. It's not just the power, tho there is plenty...it's the smoothness and linearity. And even in my wagon with 21" wheels, I have eclipsed 20MPG on many occasions.
Just my .02.

Sadly, for sale....

Damn that's quick! How many miles do you have on it now and when did you do the tune?

DMS mapped in UK 750bhp 1000nm put it back to stock when serviced so good comparison stock and DMS mapp are like night and day get a good tuner and you wont look back, 20k miles no issues! Used DMS for years so as mentioned go to one that you can see and talk in person
