2500 miles round trip , taking chances
Planning a 2500 round trip from New York to Florida in my 2019 amg e63s wagon , and I was wondering if is wise to stay on the winter tires or switch to summers .
On the same account , should I look for a spare tire or rely only on tire fit kit ?
Help much appreciated .
Summers have around 4500 miles and winters about the same .

catch 22 isn't it ? If ya already have the summers on rims as well, then easy swap.... i'd wait till the last minute..... ya get potential for snow all the way to the Carolina's.. that's about half way.... if your staying 0 days or less then the weather predictions are reasonable... if your staying a month or so, then heck same deal, watch the weather reports and swap to summer if it looks good...

Going to Clearwater. Florida , 10 days . Hard to predict weather.
Tires , 2 sets , easy to swap .
I guess , wait till last day , flip a coin and god speed.
From a past experience with a w 212 wagon with Michelin all season , almost the same trip , had 1 flat and got stranded in the middle of North Carolina somewhere for almost a day . I don’t like my odds.

Drove in a few inches of snow between Munich and Fussen on the Pirelli summer tires while on European delivery. Car did fine. If the roads are reasonably plowed and you are driving with some care you should be fine on the summer tires.

What scares me the most it’s not the weather , I can handle snow and all that , I’ve got my driver license in a country with cars with manual transmissions and pretty heavy winters at times , it is the lack of a spare tire and summer sizes not really readily available in case of a flat .

I will do an even longer trip the coming summer, I will not carry a spare..
My trip will start inn Tromsoe Norway, go to Murmansk in Russia, St. Petersburg in Russia, Moscow, Kiev in Ukraine, Minsk in Belarus, through Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, the ferry to Finland, from there to Åland and to Sweden, from Sweden to Oslo.
In total it's 6400km.

I assume summer tires , and no spare ?
‘That requires big risk taking on such a trip .
if you don’t mind , what is your plan , just in case something goes wrong with one or two tires ?
