It's unfortunate that MBWorld appears to have ZERO standards that sponsors are required to adhere to. Clearly, as seen in this thread, sponsors are free to be misleading, untruthful, disrespectful and downright deceitful to the members of this forum and continue to do so unchecked.
After witnessing this disgusting display of obviously deceitful and unethical business practices by a sponsor here, I am now forced to question the reputation and ethics of all the sponsors of this website with an equal amount of suspicion, and going forward, will be leary of supporting any of them.
As noted previously in the thread, I'm quite happy with the results using the Vlad module. It has worked flawlessly since I used it to program my lights and they have continued to operate in intelligent mode even after repeated visits to the dealer for my annual services. No Flowers for Algernon syndrome . . .
That said, regardless of which vendor was used to do the recoding I don't recall reading a single bad result after the update was done regardless of the vendor involved.
Some vendors seem to think that their method or service is superior or more cost effective, but at the end of the day (pun intended) regardless of the vendor/method the result speak for themselves.
Rather than discussing the merits and demerits of third-party enabling systems. We should be to decrying the fact that MBUSA has not turned on the full functionality of the lighting system they sold for $850. The NHTSA change in regulation was as the result of a Toyota petition. Maybe that car manufacturer has a higher concern for its customers’ safety.

I had my lights coded by @rjautomotive and I am very pleased with the results and the process. Just couldn't get in bed with a vendor who writes hundreds of post putting down members and others who provide a perfectly legit service to us. There is something wrong when your business model revolves around those practices, and I prefer to stay away from that type of vendor.
I never saw his post, but then again I blocked him a long time ago. It is obvious what will happen when a customer has a problem by his posts.
There's an old yet wise saying - "Where there's smoke there's fire". If he cannot treat others with respect here he's definitely not going to do it with a customer. Of course, if all you want is cheap then go ahead and throw the dice. It's only your money.
I wanted to clarify my question because I’m rereading some of the comments I realize wasn’t sure if maybe I wasn’t being clear.
my current multi beam led headlight lenses are in bad shape. Lots of pits and marring that are not polishing out.
so I want to REPLACE headlights. Since I’m doing this I might as well get the EU version with the clear corners.
so the first question and the answer I’m seeing is if I replace the headlights with US domestic multi beam or EU version multi beam - I need to code them to make them function. It’s NOT plug and play.
SECOND QUESTION: can I just purchase a module to code (activate) brand new headlight units - US domestic or EU multi beam? Or does this need to be done at a shop. Thanks!
UPDATE: I didn't hear back here, but made some calls. So I'm understanding that any new headlights, EU or domestic, need to be programmed to function. Not too many independent shops (in my area) have access to the Mercedes servers to do this programming so a trip to the dealer is likely required. The dealer may not agree to activate a non domestic part....need to figure that one out.
The full function module needs the initial programming to activate the headlights first.

and, keep in mind that the dealer can only code what they have in SA from MB servers, automated so the coding you will get is the same as what your original lights
if the version of your new headlights is wrong it might not work
also the sidemarkers on will trigger faults
I doubt they know how to set them off
