Every single person who has purchased TCU/CPC simply followed the directions, was respectful to a total stranger, and sent their VIN, they found out that they could do it within usually minutes of asking, and paid their deposit. Seems you just want to keep telling everyone how much YOU don't want it... Weird flex but OK.
One thing I would like to point out (even though it's also clearly stated in the original post) is that this is not a new tune. The developer behind it is also not new, and not "some guy", he has been tuning TCUs for 722.9 for many years, and every other person/company who offers (or has ever offered) TCU tuning for 722.9 or 725 is using him. The 725 is also not a new transmission, and it's been installed in production cars since like 2014, possibly even before then. I have taken several apart in training, and they are very well built, and very strong. Have been making >900wtq on my 14' E63s for over 2 years and 20k miles of very abusive daily driving and racing. Trans is tuned as serviced every 15k, that's it. I only say that because its only "rated" at 1000nm of input tq (738 lb ft) at the crank... at yet, somehow - it's holding up to over 150% of that. MB overbuilds, and we take advantage of that extra headroom for our clients' benefit.
It's been well tested for many tens of thousands of miles on many different 9g cars, for many years. No matter what I say it obviously does not matter to you, since you are enlightened on the subject
Bottom line is this: Don't want it? Don't buy it. Want more from your car? This is the way.

Sold 3 already and ordered another today, you two are a laughing stock to those folks - each one mentioned this thread, brought you two up specifically, and we've all had a good chuckle at the keyboard warrioring going on. I have no complaints. Let the hate flow. The WhatsApp group for TCU tuned owners also makes plenty of mentions of y'all in a negative light, not me...so not sure what to say about that. I don't blame them for not joining the sheetposting - but it would be fun.

There is a difference in transmission performance, hands down. Maybe only .0003 or .3 perhaps .21222222222 . If that is a difference you are looking for then TCU tuning is for you! If you can't see any value in minor performance gains then this is not your thing to be sure.
As someone who has had / has both RennTech's TCU tune and now the EC TCU tune, I can very much say it's not smoke and mirrors. I can only speak for the W212 platform not the 213's.
It would seem that it is common knowledge here and on the 212 side that the TCU does in fact limit the capabilities of the transmission.
Despite not having the "data points" we could all agree that *any* adjustment to the side of more performance is a good thing? It's up to the end user to decide if the juice is worth the squeeze right? Why hate on something that's not for you or you would not do regardless?
Additionally having meet Dave in person, I can say he is very much a helpful and smart individual. Judging someone based on their responses to a very combative group seems short sighted. You don't have to agree with the guy, but there is no purpose in constant harassment. Don't like the product, thread, person or techniques? Don't reply, don't buy.
I'd buy again. My car is better now than it was.
