2019 E53 Cabrio, Lunar Blue. 2020 GLC 300
Just picked up yesterday, CPO 2019 Lunar Blue Cabriolet. Love it so far. Still trying to figure out all the systems. Also having trouble finding winter tires. Mine has the 20 in PZeros. I got wheel and tire insurance so may have to stick with these. Had PS4s on a previous CS4 911 and they were great.

I just turned 30,000 miles on my 2019 E53 convertible today. On Tuesday, the 4 Pirelli SotoZero tires get mounted for the winter. The tire and wheel insurance that I have, has paid for itself many times over. Just a FYI, only covers the OEM tires and wheels, so when I lost a snow tire, the replacement was 100% on me.

I don’t think anyone else in North America has a green 2020 E53. The dealer was saying like 2 were built in green and like 6 or 7 green overall since 2018. Add to that I completely customized it to my own liking

Black ash wood interior, black designo seats, heated steering wheel etc……. It’s a beautiful and unique car. I love it, and can’t wait for the warranty to expire so I can explore its true potential. But for now it will stay stock………… Needless to say, when I upgrade I’ll order, and it will be another AMG Mercedes. This car, and my wife’s AMG has sold us on the brand. It’s impossible to look back and anything less is a downgrade.

If you look closely you can see the green color and gold flake. The paint on this car is amazing.

How late was your serial number

How big of a project was it to upgrade the exhaust? I have a 2019 E53 Cabriolet that does not have a variable exhaust option. I had (long story) a 2020 E53 that did and I miss that feature.

Here is a general idea for the performance exhaust retrofit (but this is for the C43):

Unless you mean custom exhaust?

Got my 2021 E53 a couple of weeks ago. Moved up from a 2018 E400 Coupe and it has absolutely been worth it.

Wheel/Tire Insurance

When I purchased my CLS550 5 years ago the dealer tried to sell me the wheel/tire insurance. I think it was just shy of $2k then. But, and this was the BIG but, they said it only covered each tire/wheel ONCE. And, if the rim only needed to be straightened and cleaned up that was considered a covered event. So if you hit another pothole with the same wheel on the way out of the dealership you would be out of pocket for the repair. I declined the insurance.

Several weeks later I hit a pothole that was big enough to swallow the entire damn car. While I was waiting for the tow truck 5 other cars hit the same pothole (3 MB's, 1 BMW, and 1 Honda.) Blew two tires and destroyed the rims as well on one side. the other two rims had to be straightened. I really thought I was screwed for not getting the wheel tire insurance. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I found out my regular car insurance covered the entire repair (minus the $500 deductible). Not long ago I ran over something on the highway and it destroyed the two rear tires on my 2016 Corvette. Pleasantly surprised again when my car insurance covered it minus the deductible.

And that's my 2 cents,
Dunkin

Are you mounting on your OEM wheels, 20’s? I was really up in the air over what to do for winter and would up ordering a wheel/ tire package from Tire Rack. I decided to go with 19s and Vredestein Wintrac Pro non run flat . Also ordered that tireJect sealant, and a cool little sealant, pump set from Griots . I had a hard time finding proper offsets as I wanted as close to OEM as possible or even a bit less offset to bring them out a bit. I got real close with this MSW ( made by OZ in China I’m sure) type 30 wheel. Front is 20 like OEM but wheel is 8.5 wide so 6 mm more in and 6 out. Rear is a 9.5 with 25 offset ( OEM is 49) . I love some of the AMG wheels but have to admit my budget did not like the $7000 quote from my dealer for that package. I went all in for $2200. I guess I will decide in spring if I want to switch to non run flat summer Michelins. My tire warranty won’t cover anything but what’s on there now so will see. Looking at wheel spacers for the summer set up. Another member went with 15mm and it looks good but I think it was a E63s so wheel offset may be different. Really love this car. Still trying to find a quick way to switch my XM radio stations. Seems like too many steps, but haven’t gone back to the manual yet.

That is a good looking wheel with decent offsets available. And low cost. I did not see them before getting my MSW, but I am very happy with mine.

I have Braelin BR08s for winter. I would’ve went for the 09s but the 08s makes cleaning much easier in the winter.

2019 AMG E53
Kind of a random thing but here are some pics of the battery and rear fuse compartment from my 2019 E53. I've been having issues with low 12v charge messages and wanted to check it at the source instead of the leads under the hood. Getting the plastic molding piece off the frame in the trunk was kind of a PITA.

That's because it's the trunk! Or the boot for our euro friends This is on a 2019 but I can't imagine much has changed since.

Not planning on buying the wheels, but that looks ace. Did you run spacers with this setup?

Common mods for the E53?

Thanks in advance for any advice!
Have a 2022 E53. Really nice vehicle. Plenty of power and stylish. No issues thus far except a needed adjustment on trunk lid sensors. What I truly hate is the panoramic roof. After emailing 12 different MB groups and people to obtain the UV absorption on the glass I received one reply that was not correct. Gets very hot and what is truly odd is that to have the sunshade cover the glass the sunroof must be closed. Any way MB customer service is horrible. Given the choice again I would get the CLS. Just traded in a 2019 and loved it. Also it’s not a oddly shaped as the E53.

I live in South Florida and heat is obviously an issue. I have had all of my recent cars tinted ( including sunroof and windshield) with high UV rejection films. This one has Xpel Prime Plus 15% on the sides and rear, with PhotoSync 70% on the sunroof and windshield. Hope it helps!
