IWC Clock for 2021?
Does anyone know if the E63S Sedan/Wagon will still incorporate the IWC clock on the console? All of the pictures from Europe show a blank space, but the US DOG's both show that the clock is standard equipment. Confusing.

The horses are now in the barn, 2019 E63s
Good catch, I missed that in all of the info I've been gathering since June. You must have a different DOG than I because I couldn't find it there.
Always thought that was a nice upscale touch............only in the mind of MB.............

The DOG is a marketing document and not the build configurator. For example, even though the DOG specifies that a beige headliner can be ordered, the dealer configurator does not have that option anymore. All of the published pictures of the interior do not show the IWC clock on the console. However, it certainly is possible that the US-spec AMG cars will have the clock. Thanks for your response.

I've always been a fan of the analog clocks on MB panels and, as "watch guy" with a number of IWC pieces in my collection, I was looking forward to the Ingenieur in my new E63S. Alas, I found out the hard way when ordering my car last week (vis-a-vis the Macchiato Dinamica headliner) that the DOG shared in this forum is not the last word on the 2021 cars. Apparently, that's also the case with the IWC clock.
More's the pity. Count me as very disappointed.

Is it really an IWC clock?
I have a 2020 E63 with the IWC clock. Do you all seriously think it is actually IWC movement in there or just a marketing gimmick? We also have an S550 that seems to have the same clock without the IWC badging. I always thought that it was a marketing ploy since IWC is a big sponsor of Mercedes AMG F1.
I love the analog clock. It's cool that it's IWC and all, but I find a glance at an analog clock and my brain "gets" the time a bit faster than reading a digital clock. I know there are digital time displays all over the dash but I always use the analog. It would be a shame to lose it.

My understanding is that the IWC clock is simply a brand licensing agreement. It's the same clock as found in non-AMG models, except it has an IWC logo on it. It's not an IWC clock, though. It's not even an "analog" clock for that matter, either. The time is synchronized to the car's digital clock, which itself is synchronized to the GPS time signal, so it's actually more accurate than an analog time piece, given that the GPS time is based on an atomic clock, although the car's time will slightly deviate between synchronization points. This is more about the brand philosophy and the engineering behind both brands. Having said that, I do find the clock a nice touch in this all digital age. I do actually glance at it regularly as well to see what time it is, despite the digital time being displayed at least in two other places. It's kinda like the Sport Chrono stopwatch in a Porsche. It's a nice unique detail. Shame that they are getting rid of it.
