2020 E63S Brake Pads

Has anybody found a lower dust alternative for the steel brakes? I had some on my 2014 E63S and they helped a ton....can't seem to find any for my new ride (new to me 2020 E63S). TIA, Tim

Yes - Porterfield R4S. I did this on my 19, and have seen a noticeable improvement in brake dust.

Fronts: AP1291-R4-S

Rears: AP2047-R4-S

You can make the switch to R4 track pads without rebedding in about 15 minutes per corner as well.

I have a set from www.zeckhausen.com... and indeed they are much less making dust but... the dust that they do produce is sorta hard to get off of my black wheels (but much better than stock) and they have started to squeak a bit coming to a stop. When i switch to my winter setup I will probably try to lubricate the calipers and see if that helps. But all in all I like them and haven't really noticed any real negative attributes over OEM. Cheers.

seal or wax the wheels and it comes right off.

The squeaking is normal and occurs with OE pads as well. Part of having a fixed caliper/semi floating rotor with large swept area up front

Getting these (and my winter wheels) put on tomorrow. Can't wait for less dust.

Thanks for the info. Porterfield's website does not show applications for 2020 models. I assume the calipers are the same as 2018-2019, but am not certain. Can anybody confirm?

Would you say that the E63 produces more break-dust than other cars, or is it related to how it´s driven?

With my current car break-dust isn´t an issue (but I do hate break-dust aswell). If I drive the merc the same way as my current car, will it produce more dust you think?

I have an E63s 2021 on order, I can still change the spec, go for ccb, but since I´m not going to track the car and mostly drive it with my family on board - hard breaking is usually out of the question if it can be avoided :-)

Pad material is the primary factor.

I have the CCBs on my 2018 wagon and they're really nice. No squeaking and very little if any break dust plus they take (from what I've read) about 40 lbs off of the un-sprung weight. I also don't track mine but do enjoy spirited driving on occasion and they don't fade even on the twisties or hauling down from high speeds plus they last a long time (just don't get oil on the disks.)
My 2013 C63 AMG brakes produced a lot of break dust and would squeak too. I found that by getting to maybe 60 mph and then really breaking hard the squeaking would stop for maybe 1k miles and then I'd have to repeat this exercise.

I´ve added CCBs to my order now. Everyone keep saying it´s a very nice feature. I figure my next car will be an electric so maybe last chance to try them out. So my comfort oriented E63s will have ccb:s (plus my wife will never find out)...

Have the Porterfields on with my winter wheels (powder coated OEM winter set). Way less dust so far (5 days in) so I'm happy.
