My favorite thing is when people ask the forum to verify something i.e. "Hey should I buy this car?" and then they've already done the thing and it's too late. Bro you got lied to and then you gave that stealership money. Congrats. Cancel your order man.

It is true that the Camaro SS and ZL-1 are now banned from sale in Wa and Ca because of brake pad regulations. Seems the amount of copper in their high performance pads is too high. Chevy is looking for a fix so they can sell 2022 models in those states.

I’ve got the CCBs on my car. The order is locked. Why would I change the order? Do your homework before spouting off about a dealer lying.

I did see this Steve Lehto video about two Camaro models being banned in California due to their brake pads containing copper.
Googling around it seems that some ceramic brake pads do have fine copper wires embedded in them to help generate heat and improve friction.
Haven't seen anything about the Mercedes CCBs in searching, but maybe this dealer is basing the statement off this ban that is impacting the Camaros?

Sad to hear some folks in Cali were draining oil without disposing of it

As Steve points out in every 2nd or 3rd video, he's been a lawyer for 28 years and counting, so that would have been a long time ago. Hopefully the practice up in the LA area where he was going to school has been eliminated.
I've never seen such a thing here in CA in the North Country and there's really no need as every auto parts store has a recycle tank to drop off oil.
