Question Protecting our AMGs from Salt on Wintry Roads

Now that we've entered the phase of Northern Hemisphere winter when snow may be falling, many places have (or will soon be) starting to salt the streets. Please share your best tips and advice to protect our cars from salt related corrosion!

I drive my wife's SUV when the roads are salty. When I sold my '14 AMG wagon, the buyer said he couldn't believe how clean the undercarriage of the car was when he got it up for some work. I have yet to drive the current whip with my winter wheels. I guess that should change at some point. But I suppose if you "must" drive this in sh*t conditions, just wash it ASAP and give a spray under the car too.

Be well.

I would rinse mine off with a pressure washer regularly when I lived in snowy/salty places. Worked fine.

My detailer was just telling me about an
attachment attachment
for pressure washers to clean the underside of the car. I wasn't aware that such a thing existed, and haven't personally tried this, but it seems like there are a few options.

That’s the upside down version of the driveway cleaner attachment I have.

My pressure washer wand handle has a variable power setting. On low I think it would be ok, but I’d worry on higher settings about damage to the underside of the car because the nozzles would be so close to the car.

My best tips is 100% bulletproof.
I'm living a place where it's not allowed to use salt on the roads.

I use salt x for my cars in the winter. It is designed to dissolve the salt and wash it away.

I run mine through a touchless wash near my house about once a week in the winters to get the salt off the undercarriage/wheel wells.
