I am finalizing my purchase tomorrow on a 2018 E63 Wagon that I am buying long distance. The car has just 9K miles and comes with the MB CPO warranty of 5 years and unlimited miles. Dealership is pushing an additional 2 year (7 total) for $5,100. I expect to keep the car for at least 5 more years but do not anticipate exceeding 100K total vehicle miles by that point.
Does anyone have any experience with these warranties and if this is priced reasonably. Dealership claims they are offering at a 20% discount compared to buying at a later date.

When does the 5-year clock start? It will be the date of the original sale, which can be three years ago already. So your remaining warranty could be two years. Personally, I wouldn't want an AMG without some kind of factory warranty. It depends how soundly you want to sleep. The CPO warranty isn't as good as the original factory warranty. There are a lot of things not covered, but most of the expensive stuff is. It's worth having.Originally Posted by mcdougall964

PS. I assume it's the MB 2 year CPO warranty extension and not some third-party policy. Get that in writing.

When is the current CPO expiring? I won't do any additional CPO consider getting Fidelity instead and with 9K, miles you could probably get additional 6/70 for not more than $5500. Call Micheal with Mossy Motocars and thank me later.
CPO is great but the 5 years starts when the car is punched on the original delivery date. So you really get one extra year and the mileage extended to 100k miles. Nice thing w MB is that it acts like the original warranty, same coverage and no deductible. Much better than any third party one.
OP, take delivery and decide later. You can extend any time until the warranty expires. You can buy the extension from any dealer, and there are some mentioned here that are very aggressive with pricing. Do a search and you should find the names.
Car sounds great, post some pics!

I recently had the same opportunity on a 2019 E63S. I managed to get the 2 year extension for $4100 (3 years total), and was able to include it in the 1.99% CPO financing.

You will love it. i bought the CPO option for my 2018 E63S a year ago and am happy to have it. i have a twin to your car (in Austin). i have had it in shop a couple times and all costs were covered. you also get a couple of services typically included with CPO, but get it in writing. the B service is pricey.

Car looks GORGEOUS. Make sure you get a PPI done! Somebody very recently posted a horror story regarding a CPO vehicle with bent wheels and a cracked windscreen. CPO does not cover these things and only means that it's certified as used.
