Question How do I get these dang salt marks off my wrap?

I washed my car yesterday after a couple of weeks (once it got dirty and covered in salt) and no matter how much I went over it with my soaped up wash mitt these marks/residue, which look like salt stains, won't go away! I also just tried hitting them with some Salt-off but that didn't work.

I have an Xpel ultimate wrap and Modesta coating on top, I don't know if that makes a difference here.

How can I get rid of these darn things?

I would contact the person who did your coating and ask them. I am surprised they won't come off.

Those look like mineral deposits. Did you leave the car in the sun while covered in salt/snow/water?

I park in a garage when not using the car but I was driving it while it was dirty and covered in salt for about 2 weeks, so maybe total 18 hours in the sun with salt on the car.

A 10% solution of white vinegar and water will soften and allow removal of the mineral deposits.

... and my take off the Modesta coating. Talk to the people who did the PPF/Modesta before you use any chemicals (yes, vinegar is a chemical).

You're saying I should take off the Modesta coating to get rid of these marks?

No, I'm saying using any chemicals (like vinegar) may take off the coating. Unless there's an expert here on Modesta over PPF any suggestions you get are just a guess. Your installer should have been trained by the manufacturers and should know exactly what to do without causing further damage.

Ah I see! That's good advice. I'm reaching out to them now. Thanks

I emailed the installer, he says they're hard water spots and I should polish them out. Seems dubious to me but I'm not an expert....

Modesta makes a hard water spot remover that you can spray on. The solution that I suggested will disolve the spots.

That should have been the very first thing you did - reaching out to the installer.
If there is anyone who knows what to do with a product issue, its the one who installed the product.
