2018 E 63 S Edition 1
Long time lurker, that finally decided to register to engage and further my knowledge on a prestegious line of cars.
Currently in the market for a CPO 2018 E 63. Looking to put 20 down and finance around 65-70k.
Last week, a closer dealer to me had a 2018 black magno edition 1 come in. At first i didnt think i would like the matte exterior, but after seeing it in person today, its def a beautiful look. After test driving it and feeling its power I def knew my next car would be the e 63. However, I didnt know if its particularly this edition 1. WIth 26,000 miles on it, salesman told me their dealer prices is 92,400. A little bit above my budget, but i wated to see of anyone had more information on this particular edition. rough estimate on how many were produced? Gentleman stated that it was the first year they did it in this spec. The one thing he said that really stood out was due to scarcity, this edition depreciates less. I dont really know how true that is due to many market fundamentals. Any and all hep would be appreciated!

With that being said, any regrets in buying your own edition one?
But it will have the night black magno paint, which I really like, and will be one of a small number of cars as noted above.

Yes that paint is really sleek in person. Love the blacked out badges.
I would think my next move is to find a post update vehicle, with a standard exterior, and compare

That's ONE dealer inventory only.
Do you really believe they are firm on these asking prices?
My own brother bought a used 63 Wagon last year, asking $102k, sale $92k
Ed 1 while desirable, means nothing for the actual trade in value down the road and it's premium is diminishing with every year passed.
It was only my personal opinion that I would not pay more then $75k and last time I checked we still have a freedom to have our own opinions.
Anyone else?
They can pay $140k for that car for all I care.

I would probably pick a not first edition and keep 20k in your pocket

Whichever E63s you get, I suggest to find one with CCB's. Good luck!

I also can’t figure out how to find my track pace app or measure 0-60 etc. any help is appreciated
The Edition 1 cars do not have the updated LED lighting or Track Pace app. My understanding is that these are hardware updates and you can't code the functionality into the car.
I could be wrong, and hope I am for your sake, but that's what I've heard.

Good luck to OP. Scarcity is an issue, and if you really want to maximize your bang for your buck, I would just get a '19 or '20. I concur on the CCB... almost a must have for a car of this caliber.
If the ED 1 cars were equipped with the Intelligent lighting option, then I would think they could be coded to work as designed instead of being lobotomized for the US market.
The ODB module from Vlad worked great on my car and I think is a must for any E63 equipped with the Intelligent LED headlights that gets driven much at night outside the city.

It happens to know who owned this car and it was a 10 condition. It sold on Bring a Trailer and no one should be surprised when nice V8 goes up in price because in 5 years you'll not going to be able to buy a new one. New gen AMG is 4 and 6 with hybrid tech, which will be faster than a V* now but more complicated and not as fun as a V* sound. Like i said in a different post: with more electric cars coming in the market and future ban on ICE car, i believe that people who can buy and hold on some nice built last gen V8 ( not just Mercedes) will make some good money down the road.
