Nice to see you guys getting great news. I'll continue to live vicariously through those of you with good luck until I get mine of Hell freezes over. I'm really concerned which will occur first.

Does your car show on the dealers website. I think once the car is invoiced it shows up. Mine is.
Is yours Lunar Blue?

I just checked and surprised to see it's on there with the offer for a VIP test drive. Of course, no actual photos of the car. They haven't even mentioned to me it has been invoiced. Nothing surprises me at this point as they have not been forthcoming with any information during the entire process. Unless someone like you tells me what I should ask or I hound them to no end nothing has been been communicated. I feel like I've been a good customer, buying cars from them and using their service department even after warranty ran out on our SL550 and GL450. Once I get the new car it will be time to search for a new MB dealership.

That's great. Still nothing on mine. Sent them a message about the status and website soliciting VIP test drives for mine. Still just hearing crickets.

So, the salesman finally got back to me mid day today. Couldn't explain the solicitation of test drives. Then he says the car was unloaded this morning and awaiting pre delivery inspection. I wasn't notified that it had even been assigned to a transport, even though I've begged to be kept informed of any updates. I'm happy the car is here, but man what a fiasco. Now I'm just waiting to hear how long it will take to get the inspection done and be able to pick it up. Thanks to all that have helped school me on what to ask and where to look for information. It was the only help I've been able to find. Also, good luck to all waiting for their cars to be built and delivered. I hope your experience is better than mine.

Sorry your experience has been so bad. There was not a lot of information passed to me because it was just so slow, but when I called, he sent me snapshots of the updated website. No way they should be letting anyone else drive it. If they did, I’d demand money off. My car had 4 miles and while I was waiting to get in it, someone else came in and asked another sales associate if they could test drive it. He said no, he couldn’t even let him get it because it was a special order and sold.
I don’t know if that’s normal, but I appreciated it.

Just got a call from the salesman that my car will be ready to be picked up tomorrow. Of course, as luck would have we have snow in our forecast. Varying reports on how much and I'm concerned that the State will salt the mountain road coming up to our community. Not real keen on driving on a brand new car over salted roads, so it may be one or two more days. Eventually, this has to end, doesn't it?

Congratulations! Photos will be expected. And enjoy your car and don't over think the salt! Drive the car and wash it a few days later.
FWIW: My E63 wagon build date is 4/26 and I ordered it from a dealer 1,600 mi east because I like the sales person. Prior 21 years, I bought 7 new MBs including 2 AMG Wagons from a dealer 1200 west but the sales person retired last year. My local hicktown USA did not have an MB dealer until a few years ago and they are too small to get any allocations in a timely manner. The sales person makes all the difference!
Having said this, MB systems are archaic and require manual calls/emails/checking/tracking. I am familiar with another marque Porsche (which has many other issues) does actually have a better automated order tracking system. In 2017 we would get automatic emails and my wife's car was built and shipped and landed in Houston and trucked to our Hicktown CO in 4 weeks, and in 2020 we repeated and even had pictures of the car going down the line, etc.

It is out of standard range. When it gets closer to the US it will pop up again, keep looking.

Has anyone been delayed with the car carrier? My car was released by vpc to the car carrier a week ago and it still hasn’t moved. Word is they are backed up.
