Shipping time from Germany to USA
I'm new to the forum and own an SL550 and GL450. Both were bought off a lot in the US so I've not dealt with the order and shipping process. After a lengthy wait for my E63s to be buit I was notified yesterday that is finished. Now it is awaiting assignment to a ship for the trip across the Atlantic. To those that have experience I'm wondering what the realistic time frame is for the car to be loaded and arrive in the USA. The dealership was way off on build time so I take what they suggest with a grain of salt defer to those of you that have first hand knowledge.

My build was completed on Thursday 3-4. My dealer does not have a ship yet but he did tell me that by the time he gets the itinerary it is usually already on the ship. There is a thread that claims the shipping company is Wallenius Wilhelmsen. You can log onto the web site, bring up track and trace from the menu, then select customer number and insert your PO and search. Mine has yet to show up. They do also show a schedule from Bremerhaven to Baltimore for me and there is a ship leaving this Friday, I hope I am on it. Each ship schedule shows a time from Bremerhaven to your port.
Good luck, hope you get it soon.

Do you have a build sheet, that is where the PO is. It is a 7 hour trip to the port, then it probably sits waiting for a ship. In a perfect world it ships the day after the build and the ship is waiting, but like you said a pipe dream. Once it's on the ship you can track it with the ships name.

I only have the initial configuration sheet from the order in early November. None of that is on there. According to the dealer the car was finished on 3/11. I'm meeting the sales manager tomorrow to try and get the information I need to allow tracking as it moves. I appreciate your help. Sorry situation that I have to find out this way instead of from my dealer, but glad there is someone to turn to.

Met with the sales manager today and got the paperwork with everything I need to track. My car is at the port awaiting ship assignment. Paperwork shows it will be coming to the VPC in Brunswick, GA. Hoping to have it within a month. Trying purposely to not be optimistic so my impatience doesn't take kick in. Very anxious to have itarrive.

My dealer texted me and said I have a ship assignment, he is waiting for the name. Hopefully he gets it tomorrow. Glad yours is moving forward.

Still haven't gotten a ship assignment for my car. Wondering if anyone out there has an idea how long it normally takes once the vehicle arrives at the port in Bremerhaven to actually get on a ship and moving.

My SA told me that by the time he gets a name it is usually well on its way. He told me a couple of days ago my car had been assigned, but it did not give him the name yet. Some other threads make a comment about cars showing up that still show sitting at the port in Germany on Netstar. Hopefully we both hear something soon.

My 21 E53 sedan was built 02/02 (scheduled 01/25) and was delivered to my dealer 3/11. It was at the VPC 3/7. Everything went very smoothly. Make sure your car is set to Priority 1 (pre-sold) status in Netstar so it moves quickly.
Ive seen as of late (2021 models) take anywhere from 30-45 days from date of production to date of delivery.

I just got my VIN on my wagon today. I am expecting 45 days to delivery since I am west cost. If it shows up sooner than May I will be pleasantly surprised.

Congrats, they are almost as rare as a unicorn. It has been a painfully long process, especially for an impatient person like myself. Hopefully, we will be driving them sooner than later.

My car showed up today on the shipping company website, dealer did not get the ship name yet. Left today due into Baltimore on April 6th. Might be worth checking it daily for your shipping info.

Glad you got your car. When did you place the order? Checked yesterday and mine is still sitting with no change in status. Dealer says they have no way of finding out when it will get a ship assignment. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but it just seems like a terrible system.

Hmmm, I wonder if the Suez Canal problem will have any impact on shipping? Last I read the ship will be freed from the canal this weekend. However, there is a lot of shipping backed up because of it. Of course, cars from Germany do not go through the Suez Canal (duh). However, it could cause delays if a ship was stuck there that was expected to be in port in Germany to take on a load.

The dealership sent me an email today indicating my car is on a ship and supposedly underway. Waiting on ship name and a link to track. It is almost 3 weeks to the day that the build was complete. Still shows no info found on the Wallenius website.

I would think the dealer should have the ships name if they can confirm its underway. My dealer only had ship assigned, I found it on the website a few days later. Keep checking its bound to show up. Congratulations just the same, good things come to those who wait.
