Valet function no longer has speed alert?

This is not E63 specific, though I am... anyways I dropped off the car for the B service today (whoa... $860!) and realized that the "Mercedes me Connect" app no longer has a function for speed alert. I only realized this now as last year when I took the car in for A-service I set the alert for +40mph and of course I got a buzz that the car was being driven over 40mph. I was rather pissed about that as there was no reason for the car to get on a highway, and all area speed limits are 30mph. Today I told the service rep to no allow anyone out for hot runs, and he recalled the problem from last year.

Anyways, I'm just disappointed now to see that MBUSA disabled what I thought was a useful tool in the phone app.

Cheers

Hmm,

I see the following in my Mercedes Me app under Vehicle Monitoring: Driving Journal, Valet Protect, Curfew Minder, Speed Alert, and Travel Zones.

Like you I usually set the Valet Protect and Speed Alert and also turn on the Driving Journal.

If I take the car out in the next couple of days I'll set a speed alert and see if it still triggers.

Thank you both for checking. I don't know what is wrong with my app, but the only three options I now have: "Vehicle leaves radius, Ignition on/off"

What app is that? It looks different than my Mercedes Me app.

This is as found in the Vehicle Monitoring link on the home page of the App or the Connect link.

Also not sure what that app is, 24Hours.
I am using "Mercedes me" app on iOS, it looks like the screenshot E634Me posted

There are two different apps. "Mercedes Me" and "Mercedes Me Connect". 2019 models and newer use the Mercedes Me Connect app, which is the interface that you posted. I can confirm that I also no longer see the Valet speed alert option in my app. I tried going back to the regular Mercedes Me app posted by E634Me, but it's not supported for newer vehicles. Go figure.

For some crazy reason I feel valet protection should limit speed, settings, and acceleration. Yeah, they may go for a long drive, or they may just try and see how many 0-60 runs in a row they can do in the back lot. How well does your vehicle drift? They'll find out.

Do you have the "Speed Alert" as a separate item? If yes, wouldn't this do what you want?

To the responses by GermanMIA and others: thank you. Now I can say I'm not crazy or an idiot (or not b/c of this). @Ivan, I don't have all the options your display provides, but would like to have the Speed Alert for sure. Perhaps I'll reach out to MBUSA. If I get the energy and come away with any useful intel, I'll be back to share.

Cheers

I think Ivan is based in Canada, so the app would not be the same as the US version. AFAIK, the US version currently does not support it.

Correct, I'm in Canada.

Unbelievable that MBUSA would "de-content" the app in this way. I guess it's just another item to add to the long list of things that change when you cross that imaginary line at the border...

I too am now having the same issue on my 2019 S63 AMG sedan. I am working with Mercedes Me Connect personnel to see why this is the case. As they have made changes to the app and are changing sometimes ever-so-slightly some of the features available on a vehicle -- seems like their programming of the changed app might yet still have some bugs -- as the "speed alert" icon and function I've used for about two years and again suddenly now it's NOT available.

I will try to keep you posted as I learn what their final word back to me will be.

Here too is a screenshot of my current Mercedes Me app "Favorites" page -- the icon for speed alert was always there since purchase of the vehicle but has totally disappeared. If I go to "Manage Services" in the app I have a page that says I can purchase the "Speed Alert" function in the product store for Mercedes Me Connect -- but then when I go there and am directed by the app to the purchase page -- "Speed Alert does NOT show up as something I can purchase.

Did you ever get this sorted out?

I too had this option for the first year I owned the car. As of a couple days ago my 1 year free trial period ended- so before the period ended I paid to renew ALL Mercedes Me Connect features (literally everything displayed in the store). Now, my Speed Alert it gone and my Traffic Light Assist options shows that my subscription ended on 2/10/2022. These functions worked perfectly for a year and I'm willing to pay for them to continue working as I use both frequently. However, they just show as Subscription ended with no purchasable option to renew...this is highly frustrating. I'm currently working with my dealer to get this resolved but they seem confused as well.

Has anyone had any luck with this? I have a 2022 GLE.

This is from my Mercedes Me app. I just noticed that it does have a speed alert. I don’t think it previously did because I recall looking for it when I got the car 15 months ago.

Mercedes Me Connect No Longer Works

Mercedes Me Connect team claim that as of end of February 2023 the "Speed Alert" function will be available again for my vehicle but to date that has not happened. In the meantime, after having taken my vehicle to the dealership for service, after it had been hooked up to their diagnostics equipment it has changed the onboard system in the car such that now I can no longer use the Mercedes Me features for my car AT ALL. I have alerted Mercedes Me Connect team to this problem but so far no resolution and it's already been at least a couple of weeks. Attached is a copy of what the app says (constant error message) wherein the app says my car is "turned on" and so Mercedes Me connect features including ALL OF THEM are not available.

The app shows my car is constantly "on" and so disallows any usage of the Mercedes Me app features.

A
My car was taken into the dealership for servicing and Mercedes claims that they know there's now a problem with some vehicles being hooked up to dealership diagnostics and ir renders the Mercedes Me Connect app useless. They are looking into this problem but so far two weeks now into it -- no resolution.

I am updating this today. After months of waiting for Mercedes Me Connect to respond they've come back and officially responded that Mercedes no longer supports the "Speed Alert" function for my 2019 S63 Vehicle on the Mercedes Me Connect App and do not plan to restore it. I'm disappointed that they had earlier indicated they WOULD restore it and now have changed their mind without feeling a need to communicate this to their customers. It seems that despite it not being available to my vehicle and others, it is yet available to certain vehicles. Why this is the case I do not understand.
