I guess my chances of seeing my “locked and secured 2021 order” are slim to none. I had really hoped that this order would have been completed by now, but that’s certainly not the case and now it seems like a distant memory since I first signed up for this car. I really have a bad taste in my mouth now regarding the Mercedes process and really annoyed that stealerships are bold enough to demand ADM on cars that they were able to get their sticky little fingers on. I guess it shows the real heart of these businesses and how they try to rip your head off at every opportunity. For those of you that think ADM is a necessary evil, and feel it’s inevitable, your nuts!!! The value of these cars sink faster than a rock in water and you must have a little more money than brains !!! Plus, the car isn’t complete and will require follow up visits to get it completed, if that happens. I’m sure the stealership will have long forgotten about the missing chips and treat you like a red headed step child. Good luck with that mess. ADM on cars is nothing more than stealing, only thing different, is they put it on the windshield and tell you up front, that they are going to rip you off. Think I’m just going to walk 🤔

Damn really sorry to hear, also in a similar boat with a C63 and really frustrated at MB. Mainly upset about the lack of transparency and how sudden these cancellations have been. Feels really unprofessional. Don't even get me started on ADM haha.

21's should be okay from what I've been told. Sure hope so, my 21 wagon––that I recently snagged after my 22 was canceled––is in production, estimated to be complete Aug-23.

Out of curiosity, how are you sure that your vehicle is slated to completed production August 23rd? I, too, have a vehicle "in production" but when I ask the dealership for specifics (like particular dates when it will be completed), I'm just told that "the system" shows that it's "in production." When I occasionally contact them to get an update, I get a very curt response that it's still in production, if I get a response at all, and that they'll let me know when that changes. Does the car go from production to complete, or are there intermediate steps in the process? Clearly these fools don't understand the significance of the matter to their customers who financially and mentally commit to their products (personally, I cancelled two RS6 orders, including one with a unique Audi exclusive color) and why many of us are on such an edge regarding the statuses of our orders. This has been my experience at two separate dealerships.

Anyway, good luck to you on your order. Hope it actually comes through for you.

https://mbworld.org/forums/w213-amg/...ml#post7605522 is helpful for this. Your rep should be able to see the code in their system and tell you.

That's just it. They don't give me any of this information. Its like pulling teeth with these two dealerships. I'm told that the car has been in "production" and that was about two weeks ago. Given what's going on, I don't really have much of an option and certainly badgering them won't likely help me, so I wait. But thank you for this regardless.

If they are local to you, I would go in and ask a rep to pull the car up for you... even if it's not your rep. They should be able to pull up the screen no problem and give you a status update. Do you have a VIN or PO# at least?

When I was in talks to purchase it (Thursday), the salesman said it was supposed to be built in July and volunteered to call MB to confirm production status, not just Netstar. He called me back and said their estimated completion was Aug-23rd. They’re definitely still in production (21’s), and we’ve been seeing a few show up at dealers every week recently. I’ve been calling on most when they land, except CA dealers, but they’re usually customer orders or already sold. Got lucky finally.

Sorry you’re getting such crummy customer service, frustrating.

This is my last reply, promise! Totally agree with ska 597. Any contact with my guy has been initiated by me. Always with the same vague, don’t know anything response. Any little bit of production info I’ve received has been on this forum, through Susman. I totally like my sales guys, but come on man !! But they all seem to have this attitude and it’s sometimes pretty hard to swallow. I guess that’s the way it is these days.

MBUSA ordering process for priority 1 cars suck. I have ordered BMW's and Porsche's and their process is so transparent, albeit, not the most up to date at times. Still, much better than what Merc offers. BMW and Porsche allow customers to call in with their commission number (build number) and get status updates as well as an online site that shows the progress of your build. Porsche even offers pictures of your actual car being built in Zuffenhausen! I believe German MB customers have access to something similar...MBUSA needs to get with the program....

^^^Cool pictures. Is that your 911 in production? I will share some of mine when I can dig them up.

Lots to catch up on in this thread as I've been traveling for a while. It all comes down to your salesperson. If you're not getting the details you desire ask for the sales manager. They should be able to tell you precisely where your car is at in the production cycle. Lazy or incompetent sales people are the culprit 99% of the time.

My2010m3, don't get too discouraged. Based on everything I'm hearing there's a high probability that all 2021 orders are completed.

Of course, I have ADD too. But this is obvious. I actually bought an M5 CS this past week. Should arrive in a few weeks. Call it a mid-life crisis. This may be the last great BMW. It'll be interesting to drive the wagon and M5 back to back for a while. I will keep my favorite. Ruled out the Audi. First choice was Porsche, but I'm not spending $250k on a daily driver. Decided to never sell my 2012 Range Rover so I really don't need a wagon. But I'd love to have one. May keep them all for a while. Who knows.

Certainly not giving up. I managed to secure a 2021 (thanks to HBerman) scheduled for Sept 4th completion. It's a fairly loaded black on black with silver wheels and steel brakes.

If you don't mind me asking, were you able to get the M5 CS at MSRP, or did you have to pay an ADM? Still curious why you ruled out the RS6 after stating you wanted a wagon? Couldn't get an allocation?

Thanks again for posting it! That color is exactly what I was looking for and so rare, I really couldn't believe it. Enjoy your M5 CS, I currently have a M3 CS and it's by far the best car I've driven. If I didn't have young children I would have just kept it! Cheers!

M5 CS at MSRP. Found two at MSRP the week I placed my order. In my past life I was a serial M owner. Bad, bad experience with instant depreciation. Would never pay over for any M5 out of principle. Heck, I feel bad for paying MSRP for a BMW.

Could not get allocation for RS6 Avant. Sort of half-hearted attempt though. I appreciate a more lively chassis and everything I read about the Audi points to the fact that maybe it's too refined. Although, if I beloved the Audi were the superior driving machine I wouldn't have hesitated. Also, the Audi isn't really much of a 'sleeper' with its aggressive styling. I actually prefer the looks of the Audi overall but perhaps in a wagon format. Such a handsome car. But I would've been unsatisfied if the Audi felt less playful and muscle car like versus the AMG. And I believe that to be the case.

With the wagon I want a more elegant look and feel. Not thrilled with the black seats with piping and stitching and dynamica (this is why I prefer brown or beige leather options) but beggars can't be choosers.

I've used Dr Beasley's cleaner for more than 3 years on my previous E63S and now the new wagon on the seats and steering wheel to keep the dinamica material clean and supple. No wear patterns on the 3 year old E63S. Looked the same as the day I bought the car.
You do realize that even the all leather seats have piping and stitching as well, just not in a contrasting color.

I am a new member from Vancouver Canada and have ordered a 2022 S500 (SWB). When I first checked with my SA on July 26, 2021 about the status of my order, he showed a Netstar code of B6-0.7.1 and the VIN. However, when I checked the status again on Aug 17, the status is still the same at B6-07.1 Several questions:
  1. Since B6 is after B5 (Production Competed) and there is a VIN, I assume my vehicle has indeed completed production, correct? Similarly, since a B status is before a C status (being shipped), I assume my car is still in Germany, but why it has to wait there for so long (more than 3 weeks)? Is it because my car missed the last ship out of Germany and have to wait for the next one? Or is it because MB Headquarter still has to work out the 2022 pricing before releasing the vehicle?
  2. From another thread, I understand B6 stands for "Factory Invoiced", but what is the "07.1" appended to the status? Is it common to have a "B6" before a car is shipped, or it is typically done after the vehicle arrives at the VPC (another thread seems to suggest the latter) ?
  3. Is there a good chance my vehicle can arrive in Vancouver by the end of the year? The Canadian Federal government is introducing a new 10% luxury car tax on Jan 1, 2022, and for obvious reason I am concern about the delivery date.
Thanks for your help in advance
