E53 Edition 429?
Quote: Hello, new member to the MBWorld community here.

I ordered my 2021 E53 coupe this past March, since I'm financing the vehicle it's been upgraded to a 2022 model so happy about that. Unfortunately, because of supplier shortages and packages being altered I will be losing the Multicontour Front Seats with Massage (really wanted this feature), Heated Armrests, Enhanced Heated Front Seats, and the Dash Cam. I did get to add the Edition 429 package which I think will go well with my build since I've added all the AMG packages. My salesman informed me my vehicle will be ready for the August allocation, would've been the June allocation but since I didn't add the Intelligent Drive Package I have to wait until August.

Any idea when I'll get my E53 delivered? I'm in Toronto, Canada
I'm about to put my order in for a 2022 E53 Coupe. I'm just finalizing the specs. I can't live without the Multicontour seat with Massage function. But they tell me that's not a problem now (I'll keep my fingers crossed). They have the parts. The dashcam is still an issue though so I'll forego that. The dealer told me I can expect it to arrive in June 2022 (hopefully!)

One question I have is, what is the Edition 429 package you mentioned? I can't find anything online other than the 429 hp of the E53 AMG. Is this an option, or terminology, specific to a build in Canada? I'm in the US.

Have you gotten your E53 and how do you like it?

Thanks,
Dunkin

I'm pretty sure that the display will turn red if temps get too high.

Wheels off TLC this weekend (God I love non-metallic black ) Rinse, foam, rinse, foam, dry (using Master Blaster) then two applications of Bead Maker. Paint is smooth as a baby's bottom now. Hope to post some decent pictures at some point.

The chrome trim is really nice just wish MB paid a little more attention to detail. The trim on the lower rear, front-end, roof racks and side quarter panels is perfection. It's a matte silver with the perfect amount of sheen and all matches. However, the plastic pedestrian trim around the window frames is the very same crap used on all other cars. Sadly, two different finishes. I'd love to buy some matching window trim, in the same finish as the pieces noted above, but doubt anyone makes it. May buy the gloss black night package trim for only around the windows. (And then you have the door handles and strip across the rear beneath the MB star which are different as well. That's a total of three silver materials used for trim.)

Also, as you may know by now I despise fake exhaust tips. However, I adore the finish on these. They have a cool titanium finish and it most perfectly compliments the matte silver trim along the bottom.

Does anyone make gloss black door handle inserts and/or the rear upper strip? I'm not into wrapping as it never turns out perfect.

@ocdbroker I've been told that the best option for the door handles is painting them.

^^^Thank you. Need to minimize the different finishes. Not interested in blacking everything o it. Want to get it stylishly elegant. I shall reserve blacked out look for Porsche.

I've always thought a 2 tone on the handles would be elegant. Maybe chrome above and body color below or the opposite.

Yes. This is exactly how it is stock. Might keep handles if I change awful window trim.

Are you sure that the window trim is plastic? I had the trim removed on a previous E550 and it was aluminum with clear coating. Also, the color insert on the handles is Obsidian Black and not non-metallic black. Love the foam job BTW.

Oh okay. Never realized. Thought bottoms were always body-colored. Close enough with non-metallic black as my eyes can't see the difference in such a small area. Thanks. Take pride in my foam job.

Also, the insert is part of the keyless entry system and has an embedded capacitive sensor. Don't even try to paint the strip.

Harris, I'm not sure. Don't mind me I'm just being an overly critical jerk. The trim is fine just wished it matched the smaller trim bits as those are really done well.

In Canada you can’t order the black grill separately. It’s part of edition 429 the comes with black grill and black wheels. That’s it.

I had an E53 coupe and have a E53 cab on the way. While it doesn’t have the outright grunt of the 63s it’s one of the best cars Mercedes’ make for drivability. No lag and instant throttle response is the biggest differentiator compared to the 63s. That said if you want a coupe or cab it’s the only option anyways.

I assumed the titanium exhaust tips are actually titanium. I love the color and finish of it. I hope they remain easy to clean and don’t stain.

I thought it might be a Canada/US option ordering difference.

Thanks.

First wheel complete. Ran out of ceramic coating (and daylight) so just using Bead Maker for now. These forged aluminum wheels are really handsome. It's a shame Mercedes *astardized them by incorporating fake centerlock look into the design. Wish I could use these wheels without the screw-in centercaps. I want to see the lug nuts!

The color used on these calipers is such a gorgeous deep shade of red. Blood red. Hotter than the gold by a mile. And the fact they only say AMG is a huge bonus.

Really digging this wagon. Driving impressions next week.

Take off the center caps and put them back to point the same. Looks better when the car is parked. Nice little detail

Well, it was like that in my old house. My wife was making fun of me saying it’s faster to run to the store and buy stuff, instead of trying to find in the first place. I had two sets of jumper cables that I was not aware of. Lol

Lesson learned, for my new house epoxy floor and garage cabinets were high on the priority list!

2022 E53 AMG coupe
I just placed my order for a 2022 E53 AMG Coupe. The dealer said I can expect to take delivery in June of 2022. If Mercedes even accepts the order! Now I'm waiting to hear if Mercedes actually accepts it. And if they do so without eliminating any of the options. The dealer said they'd let me know when they do. Fingers crossed.

I have a few questions:

The car comes with runflats. Those will be changed out for real tires as soon as I take delivery. Does anyone know if there are any aftermarket companies that make replacement trunk fittings that will provide storage space for a spare tire (like the old E450)? Or do I have to find a totaled E450 and retrofit the trunk to my new car? If it will even fit?

The E53 comes with 19" rims. Will 18" rims fit on the car (like the E450) or are the calipers too large to allow that? My dealer said you can't put 18" rims on the E53. But then again when I told them to get me a set of snow tires for my CLS550 they ordered the standard All Season tires that I already had on the car (Which had about 5000 miles on them.) Not helpful when I go skiing in Maine and Canada! They didn't seem to understand that concept.

Thanks
