My car has been "complete" for a few weeks now, so my dealer called up to MB distribution to dig around a bit for some answers as to why it's still sitting around completed. Here's the text I just received:
"Apparently just waiting on a software update. He didn’t have an eta on your car specifically but others that are waiting for the same thing are looking like the end of the month, so I’m going to guess we’re looking at nov delivery. I wonder if it’s an emissions or safety thing that we wouldn’t be able to retail the car without it being done."
Ugh...frustrating because based on the completion date, I should have had the car around now. So I guess I wouldn't bother making any plans until your car is confirmed to be on a boat.

I was just notified that my E63s Wagon is on a ship. Sirius Highway is now in the Atlantic on its way to Brunswick GA and should dock in about 10 days. I waited months with very little progress, so glad that its finally on its way

My wagon has been complete for 45 days now and hasn't made its way onto a ship. I keep reaching out to my sales guy and today he informed me that he finally got an answer that there is some parts delay and he doesn't know when it will actually be complete. What a rollercoaster. I hope I get it before the end of the year.

Yep, parts delay is what I was initially told as well but when my salesman made some calls he found that it is actually a software update that my car and many others are waiting on, probably yours as well. See post 230 above.

mines on the Grand Duke headed to LA. It says it's supposed to cross the Panama channel on the 16th so I'm hoping I have my wagon first week of November.

Yes, everything you're seeing here is MY21--as stated numerous places MY22 is on indefinite hold/probable cancellation for the majority of the V8-powered AMGs.

Hopefully, but it might be a good idea to temper expectations a bit because ports, especially on the West Coast, are a total mess. I can’t imagine customs is doing much better either.

Yea, Long Beach has 80+ ships sitting "offshore" right now waiting to come in because of how much the protocols have slowed things down. I don't know how much that affects auto carriers, which are a different class of ship and are docking in a different part of the port than the container ships, but I wouldn't be surprised if the boat getting there on 10/26 didn't mean at least another week for the cars to be actually offloaded and move to the VPC.

Also: can confirm the ride in comfort mode in the '21s is significantly improved over the pre-refresh cars that I've driven previously--glad I'm getting a '21 given how crappy the roads in LA are.

Nice color choice. I actually went the opposite direction and leaned into the cladding with contrasting Designs diamond white.. I think I prefer your look. Too late for me now lol.
